13. THIS WAS A MISTAKE (Couple Build OFF GRID House)

We made a mistake, and now we are left with it. This week we continued self building our Off Grid House / Shed / Workshop / Art Studio, that will complete the next phase of our project, after building the Cabin. Endless late night working days, one after another, that made us gain so much progress.

This new structure will be used as a guest house, green house, art/ceramic studio, wood working workshop, as structure to hold the solar panels, for having additional storage space and laundry in our new property.

After receiving many comments we also share the location of the ceramic store we visited in last week’s episode so you can visit it too, and share with you the whole real story of that day.

  9. clamps have many other uses than the obvious, and i'm glad you are able to take advantage of these work arounds. as a primarily solo builder, i am always finding unusual 'fixes' for my problems like this one. another great video.

  12. I did not realise that the workshop would be white! I’m such a fan of the black tiny home that the reveal (the white screws) came as a shock. I had to sit down! But now that I saw the 1st part of the façade I’m all in. Call me opportunistic, but the white cabin next to the lush green garden makes my heart melt. Thumbs up up up! 👍

  15. I was wondering why you decided to go with a translucent application and I'm thinking to myself, "What about insulation for the winter cold and summer heat?" But, now that I know that this will also be a greenhouse in the winter, i understand. You've given my an idea for when we do our build project.

    To me it sure looks like upgrade time on the toolshed. 🙂

    Pepe, you've got to make or buy that leather pouch soon. It's driving me nuts seeing you reaching into boxes for fasteners and such. lol! You'll really appreciate having one.

    I like the longer format videos with the added detail. Good stuff.

  18. Really great work! Is there anyway of adding more horizontal elements on the primary structure to do away with the omega channels? Know probably a cost thing but potentially time saver?

  21. But I know how it will feel when you catch your ankle on the raw metal edge, cut a sinew and are unable to walk comfortably for the rest of your life ?? Deal with it before you or your wife suffer.

  43. Amazing, totally epic and the white panels look totally beautiful. It looks fantastic. When you do decide to upgrade the tool shed, you need to honour it in some way. It was the first building on the site. Maybe one of Eugenia’s wooden creations maybe? I still remember you building it so clearly. Great episode.., and thanks for making it such an epic one. Love.   46. I'm really glad that you went with the white panels and not a translucent version. Not only will the white work shed play really well off the black living quarters, but the white panels in the summer should reflect back the hot sunlight, helping to keep the temperature down on the inside. It's a win, win situation. Like you said, sometimes things happen for a reason. Oh, I almost forgot, "FELIZ PASCUA".

  48. a very nice project again, very clean, square and flush, i love it and currently i understand it. sometimes you have to do some hard tasks alone, but heaven if its a goal it's amazing to do it and the most important it's to believe in where you want to go congrats
