Elaine, Love your home and all the hard work making it so special. Bev
Wow… The 🏡 is becoming very, very, very beautiful… 😍 … I liked the beautiful striped rug on the kitchen floor… 😍 … If you could show it to us, I would love to see it … 😉😊 … Cherry red is a beautiful color… A roll of protection, inside the door on the floor, will help not to let the cold and rain pass from the outside in… I have one also and it helps a lot… And you can buy it at the Chinese Store… There are made of fabric, or waterproof material like faux leather or rubber, to be better to clean and not let water pass into the house… 👌🏻😊 💖
I didn't realise you could see your little shed from your front door. You could maybe put a spout and a water barrel to catch the surplus so you don't have a river out side your lovely cherry red gate. The gate ,door, windows and post are lovely in cherry.
Hi Elaine, I was reviewing your video for a second time, as I had been thinking of the issue of finishing off the front door inside. Did you know that cork is a great insulator? If you removed the styrofoam that you have added and replace that with cork, and if you can get it in a large sheet you may be able to cut your pieces for each section as a full section and allow the “views” (your red painted ones) to show? And then you won’t have to place a curtain in the hallway.
Oh lunch looks good 🙋♀️☕
Looking Good 💖 on the repairs.

Oh my DIY and Kitchen goddess … I gotta make those flat breads … it looked Hazel friendly !
The cherry red is my favourite … if you stood long enough at my place I’d paint you too … I love it !
🙏☘️😘
Thank you very much for that recipe 👍 It looks delicious 😋 I'm going to try it. Have a great week 💛
Oh Elaine you are working so hard. The front of the house is looking lovely. The little roof you put on the front is a great idea. It gives you shade and shelter. Maybe when you come to renovate the house and as finances allow you could put a permanent one up there. Personally I would rather have a verandah instead of a grape vine. You can have that down at your land. Hope your garden is doing okay.
🌟👏👍🍀💐
Well done you two, you really benefit of the experience you have converting an insulating vans! Have a great week 🤗 greetings from rainy🇩🇰
Love the red colour and the polystyrene is an excellent idea, shame you didn’t like the cork on the back but a curtain is definitely the way to go. We have a wooden door but we still need a curtain and a sausage draught excluder up against the gap at the bottom both winter and summer… bugs (mostly beetles) are attracted by the light shining at the bottom of the door. You both work so hard! Well done!
Elaine, I'm really worried about you using polystyrene as an insulator on your sole access to the house due to it's risk of catching fire. I'm no expert on building controls but I think it can catch fire very easily and releases poisonous fumes when burning. Hopefully someone with more knowledge than me can advise. I really hope I'm wrong as my knowledge is only from watching Homes under the Hammer!. Take care.
Well done pips👍👍👍
Looking good Elaine and I love the red 👍. More jobs ticked off your to do list. Are you perhaps going to paint the wall at the front to spruce that up also? I've not tried marmite since I was a child…….didn't like it 🤣. Maybe I ought to try it again because your bread did look good and so easy to make 👍 😋
Hello Elaine. Im sure you noticed right away how the insulation kept more heat in the house. You mentioned fabric over the door. I wonder if you could cut pieces of fabric and glue it to the insulation, and then paint a varnish over the fabric to create a weather proof and shinny surface. You could have fun picking out the fabric, kind of like a patchwork quilt. Just an idea. Im sure anything you decide will be brilliant and beautiful. I love watching all your DIY projects. Thank you for being a bright spot in my week! Stay warm and safe.
Your place is looking very nice. Enjoyed your video
Great job Elaine, you’re amazing and not afraid of hard work 🎉
Your home looks so much better than when you first moved in. You have both been very resourceful in staying on budget too. I look forward to your next video.
I find it amazing how many women are improving their home spaces with their hands on skills! Keep up the good work!
