#4 Empty House Tour 🏡 1939 Portuguese Quinta

Today I give you a full tour of our property. I walk through the empty house and talk a bit of our future plans with the rooms. I can’t wait to start the renovation of the house. What transformation are you most excited about to see?

My name is Debora and I moved to Portugal to start a new life. My sister and I bought an abandoned piece of land with a cottage and a barn on it. Our plan is to restore the farm and convert the barn into a home.

We’re nursing the land back to life after it has been neglected for so long. We left the city to live a more meaningful and simple life more in tune with nature. Being Spanish and Portuguese and moving here to Portugal, the land of my ancestors, has felt like finally coming home.

We’re trying to be more self-sufficient and trying to go off-grid as much as possible. Follow us along on our journey as we clear the land, renovate the house and barn, start a garden in the future and do many other projects.

Thank you for watching and joining us on our journey!

  1. Hello everyone! I see a lot of comments about the kitchen. The only thing that makes this place a kitchen is the sink. There is zero plumbing in this room. The reason I want to change the kitchen and put it in the other room is because the kitchen is a place i'm going to be using a lot. I want my kitchen to have a beautiful view of my garden and also with easy access to the garden for harvest and preservation of vegetables. The kitchen right now has a view of my neighbour's wall. I much rather prefer a view over my garden than a boring wall. That's all I'm gonna say about it. Thanks! 🍊

  2. Ola’ good morning from Florida you have to think about when you take the wall down what will hold the ceiling in place if it was me I would go with the Arches then you can line the arches with a pretty Portuguese tile You also can put in glass French doors are put in some columns going up each side for a grand look going into the living room question for you about your sister barn It’s not legal to live in a barn In Portugal👍✌️🤙❤️🇵🇹❤️

  3. Very cool the whole space and there are so many possibilities, that I'm excited to see all the evolution.
Now geckos are very good to keep in the house, as they leave the entire ceiling free of insects, spiders, flies and even cockroaches. They scare but are harmless.
Congratulations on the house and hugs from Brazil

  6. Lots of arches, why? Kitchen is beautiful, you can always put down plain terracotta tiles and repaint them to match the existing floor. It is going to look good but a lot of work. Good luck.
