4. PiPsCast #1 – Talking about our week – Buying a Car in Portugal – Work Starting on our Land.

Hello everyone, Thanks so much for following our journey so far.
This is our first PiPsCast!
We like the format of a podcast as you can just listen rather than watching, but also we like a video too, so we have tried to combine the video and podcast into our very own PiPsCast.
In this episode, as in all episodes from now on, we talk about our week, what went well and what didn’t go so well. There is no editing, well very limited editing, its just us having a chat with you. We hope you enjoy the Podcast/PipsCast/Video 🙂

We are building our online presence and as such will be posting more regular updates, photographs, blog posts, and offering early and ad-free access to our YouTube video’s on our Patreon page. If you would like to join us please find us here..

We truly appreciate your likes and comments, and they really help our channel a lot, but if you would like to support our channel further please click the Super Thanks button at the bottom of this video.

Alternatively if you would like to buy us a coffee that would be amazing, we love a coffee, and one day soon we would love to return the compliment.

For random photographs and updates please follow us on our Instagram page

Thank you so much for following our journey, love from Elaine and Darren.

  1. for the future you should be aware that in Portugal it is possible, and not uncommon, to acquire certain debts of the vendor when you buy the car. Many unwary buyers have done this and you should check this aspect out at the Conservatoria before signing to transfer ownership.

  2. Gosh busy busy, you guys are impressive….glad it is all getting sorted….cars are soooo expensive here it’s true, crazy prices.
I have found the language very hard , not easy especially here in the algarve as most people speak English and when I do try my very basic Portuguese….they usually laugh and reply in English!!!!! But they also help you a lot too and very happy to do so. Lovely Portugal 🇵🇹 have a good week…😎🙂

  3. Lovely video again. I am a bit confused with the car thing, because it is always best to buy local if possible then you will have a Portuguese registered vehicle. I drive over in my van at the moment or fly. I will want to sell the van (In England) and buy a car or truck in Portugal. I am not sure where I stand with it. I have an house near Castelo Branco, and obviously an address, but I use it as a holiday home only, at the moment. I am not a resident as I live in England. I don't know whether I would be allowed to purchase a car and park it at my Portuguese address. Do you thing I would be able to do this?

Love this idea … though you caught me out ! … just getting to see it now 👍

“The guy turned up ! “ … pick me up of the floor ! … you are very lucky to get prompt service 👌

Car swapping and buying a vehicle in two days … wow I am so impressed, I’m not looking forward to changing my Spanish car for a Portuguese one 😵‍💫

I’ve got pallet envy now !

Gee you two are living in warp time … good on you !

    Have a restful Sunday 👏
    🙏☘️😘

  5. Hi Pips, great to see you getting sorted, wishing you all the best, do you follow "the indie projects" they are in your area and they converted a barn recently, may get a few pointers on suppliers and items that may be helpful to you.

  6. Haha Max wants Maxcast 😁 Two vehicles is a really useful thing, I've had huge problems literally waiting months for repairs to be done and I've met others who have had the same experience and life without a car here can be eeek! Lovely video.

  7. Hi, We don’t have any yearly tests in Australia either. A road worthy is required if selling a vehicle but no “time” indications are measured.
I love the pip cast concept. Thanks. 😊

  8. So pleasant to hear all the week's summary!!
You did a lot of important things and you managed so well in everything you did.
Keep up with your lovely enthusiasm for the great future that you can find on the new "land". Darren and Elaine, I wish you all the very best and hope to see you soon posting more about your new home.

  9. You have been so busy. Great job with the PIPs cast. Must feel so good settling in so you can relax and pace your life in your new home. You both look so happy and the stress seems to have disappeared. Can't wait to see your follow up videos. Well done! All The Best!
