Part 1 of a relaxing walking tour in Belém, Lisbon’s most monumental district! Famed as the port Vasco da Gama (in 1497) and his fellow Portuguese adventurers set sail for the Indies and the Americas, Belém is the spiritual home of Portugal’s golden Age of Discovery, and the opening up of the East to European traders and adventurers.
Belém is known as Lisbon’s museum district, and the home of many of the most notable monuments of Lisbon and Portugal alike, including two UNESCO World Heritage Sites, such as the Belém Tower, the Jerónimos Monastery, the Padrão dos Descobrimentos, the Belém Palace (official residence of the President of Portugal), the Museum of Archaeology, The National Coach Museum, the Belém Cultural Center, the Berardo Art Collection and many more.
It’s also in Belém that you can find Portugal’s most famous pastry, the Pastel the Belém (also known as pastel de nata), an egg custard tart pastry dusted with cinnamon that no one can resist!
Filmed in 4K resolution, first-person point of view and captions (no talking), for a more immersive experience.
