Top 50 must Do’s in Madeira

Aloha beetles, my name is Ed and since I’ve been staying in Madeira as a digital nomad for about 50 days so far – I’ve come up with the ideal bucket list of 50 must do things here in Madeira

If you like it – subscribe to my channel to not miss anything –

Lets get it!

1. Go to Sao Tiago Beach in the heart of old town of Funchal and take a swim with a view on the gorgeous fortress.
2. Rent a car or get a taxi and go to the second highest mountain of the island Pico do areeiro
3. Don’t leave that spot until you Eat the local sandwich on the top of the mountain
4. Get to the stunning plato of Paul da serra in the middle of the island to enjoy calmness and big windmills
5. Go for a hike in the eastermost point of Madeira Ponta de Sao Lorenco – it’s not similar to the rest of the island. Its like another planet because of the absence of vegetation
6. Check almirante reis beach out which is right next to Sao Tiago fortress in the old town. Enjoy swimming in super calm artificial bay almost without any waves. Perfect for open water swimmers like me.
7. Enjoy walking down the rocky beach and here’s why..
8. Drink some Poncha in Ribeiro frio. Beautiful area where tourists like to hike. Find the cafe Faiska.
9. Walk from the new town of Funchal to the old one. You’ll find a crazy number of nice cafes, bars, super cozy houses and cool cars
10. Meet sunrise on Pico dos barcelos. Its one of the favorite places of locals. Cause it has a brilliant view on the capital
11. If you’re adreline addict Try paragliding in portela village. The views up there will blow your mind for sure
12. Don’t even think to leave the island before you go to Era do serrado in the legendary Nuns valley. My strong suggestion is to come early in the morning cause this spot is super popular here
13. Another tip for you, beetles, Be ready to pay cash every now and then. There are lots of places without paypass terminals so have some cash on you
14. Ride the legendary sledges called Tobogang from the tophill of Funchal – this is the experience like no other, you just have to try it out
15. Run like Forrest Gump somewhere up in the middle of the island like. Embrace the adventure and enjoy the feelings
16. eat regional espatada in one of the local restaurants – my suggestion is O velinho or Marisquira Tropicana in the old town of Funchal
17. Another good advice is Subscribe to my channel to enjoy sincerely made lifestyle&travel videos
18. Get lost in Fanal – this is a charming spot with gorgeous trees which are hundreds years old. You ll be lucky if its cloudy cause you ll get that mysterious atmosphere of a fairytale forrest. But when I was there there were no clouds. And I did like it as well
19. Buy some unique fruits like passion fruit or maracuja which is very popular here. Locals add passion fruit in every dish and drink. Dont forget about local bananas, they are very sweet
20. Spend some time in the digital nomad village Ponta Do Sol, chill on the beach, take a swim, go find some business contacts in one of the coworking spaces where hundrets of digital specialists all over the globe are coming to work remotedly
21. Go to Mercado Do Lavradores in Funchal – its the main food market in Funchal, but my recomendation is not to buy fruits there, cause the prices there are made higher for tourists, you can always buy some fruits on the streets
22. Visit porto moniz and swim in volcanic pools. Its the most far away town from Funchal and yet one of the greatest and popular among newcomers and locals. I like it very much
23. Miss some crazy view points – Get your ass to Cabo Girao – one of the highest cliffs in the world, absolutely stunning view on the Funchal and Atlantic ocean. But as I ve said in previous episode – come the earlier the better. It opens at 9 am
24. Getting hungry ? Eat some espata – its a local fish nicely fried and ussually served with local bananas or with shrimps – if you’re seafood lover – you gonna definitely like it
25. Don’t forget to spend a day in Lido beach complex. Absolutely great place to chill and relax by the pool. You can also find tons of cafes and bars nearby. So its a great place for families with children who love comfy and safe rest
26. Take a shower in Cascata dos anjos – one of my greatest experiences here in Madeira. Amazing waterfall situated in the western part of the island with water falling on the old road. A nice carwash, by the way. But if you going to take a shower like me – dont forget to bring towel
27. Go to the oldest Christ monument. Two others are also great : in Lisbon and in Rio De Janeiro but this one is fantastic also

Watch until the end =)
