#59 🇬🇧New Life In The Sun 😎 🇵🇹 Coimbra District Central Portugal

In this vlog I’m enjoying being in one place with the housesits on hold for a bit. I’m in the Coimbra District of Central Portugal. I’m reminded of how different things are since starting a new life in Portugal.

  1. Thanks for showing me around the neighbourhood. How did you get up to touch those dogs? It was really high from my memory and/or there was a lot of bushes in the way which I might have been a little apprehensive of but anyway, I could never reach them.x

  2. Enjoy your time chilling in one spot! 🙂
Was wondering – do you know YouTuber Portugal From Scratch? She might be a fun interview and house showing for you. 👍 I think you might enjoy her sense of humor. 😊 Stay well!!

  3. Visiting a friend near Oliveira do Hospital and Tabua is always wonderful, I enjoy everything about the area ( except perhaps the scary dirt tracks with deep ruts that give access to some very rural locations) Serra da Estrella is lovely but the hairpin bends are nerve racking, most roads like you said are a joy to drive on so free of traffic. The climate and people are wonderful. I'd live there too if my circumstances allowed it's my little bit of heaven when I stay on my friends Quinta. I have enjoyed housesitting in the uk just a few times too, it is a lovely mutual exchange. Have a wonderful time. Thanks for sharing your experience.

  4. You let your age slip. 👏🏾 I thought you were about 2-4 years older than me. I was born at the end of 1966. Also, people still think I’m in my late 30’s, so they’d think you were in your 40’s. Hehe!

  5. Luise, I am simply impressed that you have your GPS set to Portuguese!! I always enjoy your driving and exploring videos. Obrigada ~ xx
p.s. Parabéns on your DL Exchange. Did they reverse the month/day? I was happy to hear they are holding off having to exchange your licence, until I realized that I'll be 60 in February so it won't help me at all. Even if I do arrive in January. Oh well.

  6. Won't be able to make my yearly holiday to Portugal this year. But next year I plan to make it up by treating myself to 6 weeks in Portugal and your vlogs are meeting my Portugal fix and giving me lots of ideas.
    Thanks

  7. You seem really happy and relaxed at this long house sit. The landscape is beautiful and I so enjoy seeing where you are and what you are doing. I would be interested in a tour of Anadia sometime. Take care. See you next time.

  8. Just returned back in the Netherlands, Saw some family that lives in Coimbra ❤️ my mother was Portugese… And my Grand mother used to live in Marco dos Perreiros up the mountains across the bridge 🌹

  9. Hazel ☘️ …
I’m glad you are getting some R&R, swimming and partake in dome yoga classes … I can almost smell what you have cooking in your instapot as I imagine you are cooking up some nice food and you’ve got some cooler weather too … you got it all going on girl !

    Have a great week
    🙏☘️😘
