We'll be renting at first as well, but we may not even decide to stay in Portugal so it may be a rental situation for us for awhile. That gives us some flexibility to check out other areas such as Madeira. As far as buying, do you think it'd be a good idea to hire a buyers agent? I've seen several videos where they were talking about that and it seems like a good idea.
Hi joric how are you. I would to stay 2 nights in lisbon do you any good place to stay no to much expensive and a place with parking for car thank you very much
Thanks for the tips! -How can you find out if the property is an inheritance sale? When purchasing a Condo, rather than a single home, we have concerns about assessments. Questions: -Do assessments work the same as in the US? -Is there a type of insurance that can cover assessment costs? Thank you!
Are you aware that you can get an online "certidão de registo predial" for 15 euros (I think) and you'll know all the details about the property without having to trust the seller's info (whether it was inherited, whether there is a mortgage, etc)?
Great tips Joric. At the moment, we don’t even know IF we’ll be relocating, let alone buying, a place in PT. Nonetheless these are great points to consider. 🙏🏻(As you wisely noted, we are considering Italy as our “plan B” should PT not work out) I casually noticed a property in Setubal that looked interesting. Much to my surprise, it’s been on the web site for close to two years now! I suspect this falls either into your category #5 (Inheritance). I also heard realtors keep properties that are no longer for sale as a way to “reel-you-in.” 😲 Perhaps a category #5A. Cheers.
