For the base
200gms butter
60 gms sugar
200 GM’s plain flour
oven for 15 mins

for the filling
300 GM’s ground almonds
100 gms plain flour
250 gms butter
150 gms sugar
5 Eggs
cherry jam as required
pitted cherries to garnish
flaked almonds
oven at 170 c for 30-35

  1. Nice way to secure plaster board..(we still in SA but have just bought a house and 2 ha in Viseu.) Where did you get the insulated plasterboard?…starting our build in July.. learning a lot from your vlogs!

  2. Here’s a challenge Nick! Next year we’ll have a potato growing contest amongst all the expats 😁 One same size bucket each, one seed potato and see who grows the most kg of potatoes! Use your own secret compost mix. You up for it?

  3. May I ask why you don't use clay plaster to have a better indoor climate to regulate heat and cold? It seems that your soil is full of clay mixed with sand, the plaster is easy to make, being cheaper and more functional than the plastic walls.
