I think you cold pobably make a really cool laundrybasket with the mimosa bark.
How much money to join?
Mimosa is a member of the Legume family of angiosperms. They have mycorrhyzal fungi living in association with their roots, similar to other nitrogen fixers like clover, beans & peas, etc. This means the soil is likely to be good for growing crops. Perhaps you could experiment with growing crops among the mimosa trees once you have thinned them out.
Safety concerns about the stairs at the end, falling down onto one of the “posts” seems like a hazard
Mimosa wood looks like an interesting wood to work with. I dont see much acacias in my country but the day i put my hand on something I’ll definitely give it a go to make a piece if furniture. Thanks for the video.
Amazing video this week, thanks! Love the ideas in the comments of using the mimosa logs for terraces and raised beds. You could make some trellises to grow climbing veggies up from the bark. The baskets are amazing! Question for next week- how long does everyone work a day, do you have set days off (I think you answered this in a much earlier video, but has this changed)?
I just love this content.
Hahaha 'so I called my mom…' cracked me up. Hope you stick around for a very long time Martijn!
Stairs – You cut off the potential upright for a handrail.
They got dmt in them
wooo! fast upload
you are amazing guys!
Awesome with a longer video. Great content! Keep it up!
I wonder if you could make Charcoal from it and sell for BBQ supplies?
Hey guys, why are you asking for 50,000 euros to reforest your land? It's an excessive number for Portugal I would say. What's that particular project about if I can ask? For less than 8,000 euros you will be able to reforest with native trees a vast area of land (dozens of hectares).
Did you come closer to a plan for the big ruin? And what are the different options you are discussing?
So cool to see you're reflecting gender roles. I think about that a lot watching your videos
I’d be happy to build furniture etc with the frees
I am from Canada. What you call a lake, we call a pond by size.
Would it be possible to make a coffin out of Mimosa bark ?
great video!! hard work!! 🤩🤩🤩🤩
You seem to have an extremely dangerous way of using the wood chipper. It should not be working while open like that with the visible blade spinning. Seeing how slowly the machine was chipping one of the branch, I would guess that you are operating it this way because the chip do not properly exit by the the yellow piece. If that is the case, then your problem is that your keep the tractor at a too low RPM. If you increase the RPM, you increase the speed of the PTO and the power to the chipper. Yes, it will use more fuel, but it will also work as intended, properly blowing the chips out of the machine, and likely at a much higher speed.
Ozzy Ozzy Ozzy oi oi oi
have you thought about using some of the clear cut rubbish in a hugelkultur? As it decomposes it will make some really great soil.
For the bark baskets. would it help if you soak the bark in water first to make it more pliable?
Maybe you could make biochar for your soil.
Just a suggestion… if you ever plan on planting trees please don't plant them in straight lines! There are loads of these planted forest near to where I live and they just don't feel real. They feel artificial and unwelcoming. So please leave the essence of forests to work, the seemingly random chaos that is actually a perceft order.
I didn't even know I feel this passionate about forests but there you go 😀
Just an idea, you can build a yurt from all the mimosa that was left.
