MADEIRA, Portugal – Join me for a road trip outside of Funchal to the Northwest of Madeira. The North of Madeira really is so different to the Southern side which Funchal is on. The views are absolutely spectacular and you often feel like you’re in Jurassic Park.
I want to show you 7 amazing spots which you need to visit when you’re on the island. If you have a rental car, fantastic, you can drive to all of them very easily.
If not, I recommend taking one of the jeep tours which are available all over the capital. They will take you to most of the spots on the list.

I drove past it en route to Farol da Ponta do Pargo as I wanted to catch the sunset after starting my journey at São Vicente, & yes I hiked up to Capelinha de Nossa Senhora de Fátima of course!
Did you ever visit Rocha do Navio just north of Santana? That's another fajã worth visiting & a memorable hike as the cable car was out of action due to storm damage, as it had fallen to the ground to the ground 5 days before I'd arrived there. You'll see that in my Madeira Part 3 vlog.
