  1. Hello, is the portable shower thingy you using a Hozelock 4 in 1 please? I thought it would be great for my daughter's vintage caravan, to save hooking up the gas. She could use it in her shower.

  2. Hazel ☘️ …
You two are so amusing together … you do one thing Elaine, Darren comes along with another viewpoint … and yet together you come to a satisfying conclusion together … and both got an eye for thriftiness . Recycling in its purest form … love it !
Have a great week , somehow I have confidence you will !
How’s Max settling in, do you think he knows this is home and not another adventure ? … suppose as long as you two are with him he doesn’t care !
    🙏☘️😘

  3. That old furniture is a "louceiro". An old wall piece of furniture with several shelfs to expose the nice "china" of the house. In any low middle class house in rural Portugal this was where the hand painted ceramic dishes inherited from parents and grandparents were exposed proudly. 😊Nice you repurposed it.

  4. Elaine… you can do everything!!! We loved the idea of the white wash effect on the shelf unit. Well done. The fairy lights add a nice touch to your kitchen. Cheers and like always stay safe.

  5. Great that you have a good eye on how to recycle something for temporary use 👍. Saves money that can go towards all your permanent fixtures & fittings that will be needed later on. The bakewell tart looks yummy 😋

  6. Hi Elaine and Darren we have been watching you from the start , we love Portugal have visited many times would love to be able to do what your doing but not able to at this time, we have a motorhome planning a trip to France next year. We love watching your adventure. Linda and Ron

  7. Living in an earthquake zone, one thought that comes to me when I see your kitchen is …. what would come down in an earthquake? Having lived through a major quake and see what they can do, I changed my thoughts about safety. Not sure how frequent earthquakes are where you are, but I do know that Lisbon was flattened by a major quake, fire and tsunami, so I gues they could be on the cards.
Luckily you can easily and cheaply secure your shelf by bracing it from the ceiling. In Japan there are special spring loaded bars that go from your high furniture up to the ceiling and stop them from toppling. But you can also use the sort of spring-loaded brackets designed to make floor to ceiling room dividers and partitions. That way you could secure it in the kitchen and then do the same if reuse it later on in another room.
