  2. Foreigners simply don't know the real fact about seasons in Thailand. It's not uniform throughout the country. It's quite true mostly about central plain, north and northeast with the exception of the South. Thailand's rainy season starts in June ending in November when the cold front from China begins to spread to Thailand. However, the cold front simply pushes the depression trough from the North, Northeast, Central Plain down to Southern Thailand and thus begins the rainy season in the South which starts in earnest in November lasting until January. In fact, The South has a very long rainy season. The normal rainy season June-Nov covers most of Thailand but not the South which does have rain as other parts of Thailand but not as heavy. It will become heavy when the cold front from China begins to spread down South in November, December and January. So Phuket right now is in the beginning of rainy season in the South. Hope, this should clear up.
