Belem is a freguesia (civil parish) and district of Lisbon, Portugal, famous for the original pastel de Belem (sold in the shop called Pastéis de Belém) and also for some of the most notable monuments of Lisbon, like the Belem Tower (Torre de Belém), the Jerónimos Monastery (Mosteiro dos Jerónimos), the Padrão dos Descobrimentos monument, and Belém Palace (official residence of the President of Portugal). We didn’t visit the Belém Palace (next time 🤞😉), but managed to see all others.
Belém is heavily associated with the age of discoveries in the 16th century, when Portuguese navigators sailed to explore the world. It’s located about 25 min west of Praça do Comércio in downtown Lisbon if you come by elétrico (# 15E), as we did. Very worth the day trip. But if you’re more curious to discover the difference between pastel de Belem and pastel de nata, keep watching as well 😁.
The original video is in English, this is an automatic translation to help you watch in your own language. There are subtitles as well, you can activate them by typing C (desktop) or clicking the video, then at CC at the top of the screen (mobile).

Lisbon is the capital and largest city of Portugal, with about 3 million people living in the metropolitan area. It’s mainland Europe’s westernmost capital and the only one along the Atlantic coast. And Belem’s history is deeply connected to the ocean.

► WHO AM I?
I am a Brazilian journalist living in the United States. After traveling the world working with sports, news, and events for over 15 years, I realized that what I really love is the travel part of it all. So I exchanged life in the newsrooms and stadiums for the daily challenge of being an independent content producer. I created this channel to share the beauties of the world… stuff that for so long I only kept to myself. Also to help people planning similar trips and to inspire more people to venture out and enjoy life!
P.S.: The funny guy who appears in the vlogs is my husband, Gordon. He is Canadian-American and he’s actually camera-shy, that’s why he’s behind the camera most of the time 😉

Olá and hello! 🇵🇹❤️ All videos in Portugal are here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NK-rzyQV6DM&list=PLUt18OGs5Ho56ikkj6Fj3AFcw6_S-x9NK. And here I am again bringing some joy to your weekend 😍. Today let me show you a district in Lisbon, Portugal, called Belém – yes, where the famous pastel de Belém comes from 😋😋. DELICIOUS! This trip was before the pandemic, that's why nobody wears masks. Lisbon today is much quieter, but hopefully, everything will be back to normal in a few months. Stay safe and strong 🙏
Thanks!

Also, your sound quality is excellent. Can I ask you how you captured your voice? Did you have wireless lav mics or did you use any other external mic? Cheers!
Great video , you have great energy ! However, your friend looks really grouchy and boring. It takes away from your flow. Cheers subscribed
