Part 5 and final episode of the Outhouse build! I finally finish the interior of my dual outhouse build that contains an outdoor dry toilet as well as a shower as an interim solution while I renovate my farm structure. Having showers protected from the wind is a treat! The walls came out really nicely and I’m super proud of the first wooden structure I’ve ever built by myself!
Enjoying the journey? Consider buying me a cup of coffee or a roof tile to help save up for the new roof 🙂
About Girl Meets Farm:
I’m Christine. I started this journey in search of my forever farm in Portugal, and now I have found it!
This is my adventure as a solo expat on a farm in Central Portugal with my two fur-kids, Shakti & Shiva.
I’ve never owned or lived on a farm, but moved to Portugal in the hope of fulfilling a life-long dream of finding open space, subsistence farming and a safer, better life.
Now that we have found our farm, the second stage of our journey begins!
I have to figure out farm life while renovating an agricultural structure to make it habitable and turn it into a comfortable home for me and my furkids.
Thank you for joining our journey!

Great job well done!! 👍❤️🏴🇬🇧
Looks marvellous
You are doing an amazing job!
I suggest you get a shower pan. They’re cheap and it will hold up better than plastic.
Don’t worry about the wood. Even after being stained it will change with age. If it’s treated wood it will age differently from simply dried and sanded wood.
Wow great job.. 😊💪💪💞💞
Great job! Congratulations on a beautiful outhouse.
Congrats….it sure was a project…well done..
You did it! Being able to take a good shower at the end of the day is a reward in itself.
Nice! 👍
You have done a fab job! Love it, well done 😃
You are an amazing woman! You inspire me every time I watch your videos!
Really posh!! 👏 Well done on your first big project 🚿🧻🚽
Nice progress I don’t know if you read my comment last time about the shower used the roofing material in your shower that’s the easy way of doing thing And you can use a little small trim around the sharp edges it turned out nice it serves the purpose 👍✌️🤙❤️🇵🇹❤️
Rough or not…it's a great build and very usable, much better than an open air bathroom! Well done 👏
Hi Christine, bravo a job well done. You have achieved so much a usable bathroom/shower. You had a little rain, grass will grow and weeds too. Looking forward to your next video. Stay safe and have a good weekend.
You are doing a great job, you are so brave too!
That’s some view you have from your outhouse windows.
Good job. You might want to flatten your nail heads down against the door for safety reasons.
Good progress christine! Really are living a life of luxury now 😂
Such a great satisfaction the one I feel watching these new residents from abroad, improving the landscape of my little country and investing their knowledge and ambition, desire of a better life, naturally sustained using the resources available in ecologic ways!
Thank you and I am rooting for your success!
Well done, makes a world of difference when things start to get comfortable.
Christine, why are you worried about warped wood? Haven't you had that structure for 10 years now? 🙂
Lovely view out your shower window. That will be so nice next summer, to take a cooling shower.
Amazing that you did all this by yourself! What about some kind of heat for those cold winter days and nights?
Christine not a bad job on the out house give yourself a pat on the back, those screws in the door look a bit dangerous if you have a angle grinder should cut them down in five minutes.what’s your next project.
