  1. you know you can use WATER in your "windshield " washer reservoir…did you no know that?? —not sure you should be out there.–you shouldn't have to be adding that much oil, diesel or not, they don't burn that much oil.

  2. ❓winter? Lol, you were doing this trip at the end of summer, you’re experiencing the first day of fall in Alaska. There’s no way you would’ve made it by yourself even in the summer, let alone in fall.

  3. Once the vehicle gets warmed up, snow thrown against the windows makes a fantastic window cleaner. Helps if you have a squeegee to wipe the melted snow off.

Vilk is growing into quite a big puppy!

Coors, however, does not make good window washing fluid.

  4. You've seen parts of Alaska that not many people get a chance to see. I think your Alaskan adventure was a great success! I wish I had discovered your channel before you went to Alaska. I have a good friend in Fairbanks who works in aviation weather and is also a good mechanic. He has experience driving through the Antigun Pass and may have given you some good tips. I know one of them would have been to bring plenty of windshield wiper fluid! Thank you so much for sharing your adventures with us!

  5. I chuckled when Eva announced that it only took 45 minutes to get the Odyssey clean, then openned the hood to add windshield washer fluid. When I travelled to Alaska 47 years ago I had to completely disassemble my motorcycle in order to remove all of the road silt. I swear that to this day there are still vestiges of silt in portions of the wiring harness.

  6. Shampoo, shower gel, washing up liquid, or a combination of all three all work well as a screen wash, whatever you find lying about. Free hotel soaps lol. I have used many many times in my Land Rovers

  7. A huge suggestion about training your dog. Every time you feed him whistle a special tune every time. It will not take long before no matter where he is or what he is doing when he hears that whistle tune he will come running. He won't mind if he does not get fed every time. His animal brain will not be able to resist running to you. And you might get him used to a sports whistle to call him back from longer distances.

When I was camping with my son we each had a whistle. When I whistled he did not have to come … he just had to whistle in reply. Or could whistle if he needed me.

  8. Eva, you receive thousands of messages and comments, and you might never see mine. In case you do, please know that what you share with us is powerful. It is epic, healing, cheering and mind blowing. You are planting the seed in some people's mind (mine included) that we are capable, as women, to do risky and difficult things. And it can totally go with being sensitive! We don't all have the possibility and/or the courage to take that first step in our lives right now, but this time will come. Might it be at 20, 35 or 60. Each story is unique. Whenever we decide to sail, you will always be in a corner of our head, one of the persons who inspired us, gave us the courage to start. So, thank you.
