Watch The Problem With Jon Stewart on Apple TV+
This week’s podcast guest is Safi Rauf, an Afghan refugee who came to the U.S. as a teen and is now the President and Founder of Human First Coalition. He is a veteran and tells us about his work in Afghanistan helping to evacuate local interpreters who worked with American troops. While working there, he was taken hostage by the Taliban and he shares the astonishing story of how he ended up being released. He also talks about the Afghan Adjustment Act and the obstacles he’s run into while advocating for it. Plus, writers Rob Christensen and Tocarra Mallard stop by to indulge in a little schadenfreude about Trump’s very bad midterms week. Listen to the full episode on Apple Podcasts!

Believable. I am an Army vet. Believable.
Like… did you do a background check on this guy? This all sounds completely unbelievable. He seems to keep forgetting that his brother was there too… Crazy stuff if it's true though.
What an educative experience and interview. I'm glad he made it out alive from that, I wouldn't wish it on anyone.
Look up statement " they don't look from Afghanistan or Africa… they look white people just like us", this will give you the answer.
Maybe a cool movie that doesn't have Chris Pratt as the lead American? Coming from a Marine.
What an incredible man, thank you for all that you do and great job Jon on getting such an amazing man to tell his story
I would definitely watch that movie if someone makes one based on his story, they wouldn't even have to stretch the truth any even from the sounds of things.
Humor: Healing
PLEASE dude, write a book. I will buy it!
I want to put a special thank you out to Safi Rauf, it takes a special person to do what he does, the Special Ops community is small and we do specific jobs that put us in danger all the time working with people to gain their freedoms. He is a hero because he risked his life every day, put himself out there because you have to disarm yourself to talk to people because they won't talk to you with guns at the ready, you have to be ready to give yourself. You are a hero.
wow fox news made crime happen…jon…wow…
Thank you, Safi Rauf, Jon and the Problem Crew.
Over 4 million live in hiding in the US as citizens w bogus warrants from non violent bs, they work to support their kids, in fear of the US gestapo. I did it for 8 yrs. You can never resolve or catch up
Jon you are such a caring person – could you just say Afghan right please? AFFGAAN or UFF ( like up) GAAN
I give the man credit for all he does. Even before seeing many of these videos I knew of issues like this, and how our troops are treated. It is also go to see you back Jon, meant to say that a lot of videos ago.
But man… If I ever had a kid I would do everything I could aside from locking them up in their bedroom to stop them from joining any form of our military.
I love the writers. Always the best part.
Uninstall yourself stewart

You need to run for president, a no bullshit head on his shoulders kind a guy.
Let's face it, most folks in the U.S. don't have the bandwidth to care about Afghanistan and its people.
Well over 95% or more just don't care. Additionally, most Afghan citizens aren't well educated enough to be considered desirable immigrants. It's not only because they're brown and muslim. Most of them don't have money, and the U.S. population isn't capable of helping anyone else, because of the worsening American economy.
Powerful story. I do wish Jon would do less interrupting but kudos to Rauf for making his strong and emotionally compelling points. What an incredibly courageous and principled human being he is. And thanks to Jon for championing this issue.
I just met a refugee from Afghanistan, doing political canvassing (asking us to vote).
I voted. Let him take a picture of me dropping my ballot in the mail.
Hope he gets a bonus! 😁
Just POUND on the people…if they do not act they will suffer the wrath of the government. … and they are evil.
I love to watch when liberals pretend to care about the military, or to be patriotic 😆😆😆😆 we know you don't really mean it. It would be like if what his name Tucker Carlson dyed his hair pink wore a rainbow flag as a cape and started talking about being progressive, no one is going to buy it
If only we can trade all Maga fake patriots for individuals like this. To think that he would experience racism from the color of his skin faster than most, is truly sickening.
