We’re kicking off our Eastern Turkey road trip with a drive through Hatay Province. It’s the food region of Turkey with an unrivalled history and culture, being part of Syria until 1939. We go on a food tour of Antakya, the regions capital, eating everything from homemade humus to the delicacy of Kunefe and the best baklava of my life. We go off-road in the middle of a storm, in search of a tree that grew from the staff of Moses. And that’s just the beginning. Turkey, you are something very special indeed.

We’re Chesca and Ben and River (🐶 ) and we usually live full-time in our self converted sprinter van, Sophia. After a year of travelling Europe, from Spain and Portugal to the island of Sicily, the pandemic brought us back home to the UK. Along with a secret project! We spent the winter re-building Sophia into a more sturdy overlanding rig, ready to take us across Africa – our next challenge. However, it’s a trip we’ve now had to postpone. But when the wind changes – adjust your sails! We’re now off on an Eastern voyage across to Greece, Turkey & beyond. I hope you enjoy this new adventure as we overland our way East.
