According to a UAE newspaper, UK Transport Secretary Grant Shapps commented regarding UK travel at the Dubai’s Expo 2020 event. He stated to the reporters that he did not see any likelihood of any major travel rule changes that would alter the travel plans of ex-pats visiting the UK for Christmas 2021.

One of the UK’s largest trading partners, the UAE delivers almost £18 billion to the United Kingdom’s economy every year.

Mr Shapps announced that travel rules for individuals arriving in the UK would not change before the end of 2021. He said in an attempt to convince the many UAE-based British ex-pats who wish to travel to the UK for the holidays.
