The Philippines Special Resident Retiree visa offers the lowest barrier of entry for people above 50 to move to the country permanently. To qualify, you need an income of $800+ a month and deposit $10,000 into a bank account in the Philippines.

Thailand’s retirement visa needs to be renewed on annual basis. With an income of over THB65,000 monthly people above 50 may qualify for this visa. Another option would be to deposit THB800,000 into a Thai bank account.

The Sarawak Malaysia My Second Home Program is valid for an initial 10 years and can be extended. Single applicants need an income of RM7,000+ a month while couple need to prove at least RM10,000 amonth.

  1. The Sarawak Program is by far the best. Not only there is no fix deposit, but also it is for 10 years and easily renewable. Further you can own property, I mean landed property without any restriction!

    But the thing is, those 3 countries are next to and there are a lot of cheap flights between those countries. And you can enter also visa free for 1 – 3 months and easily prolong the stay without visa. So why not jumping from one to the other. Maybe you want a luxury appartment in a big town whith good health care facilities, that would be Kuala Lumpur the best option. Then you want a picturesque beach resort, that would be best in the Philippines. And then you might want a golf resort, that would be in Thailand. After 30 days, you switch your home and take off for the next country and you can get by without any visa.
