  1. Leira has the highest population on the Silver Coast… I think Coimbra is likely second.
Sagres is amazing! I agree with Josh on the Algarve. Truth is that our choices are different… I love Lisbon, like Porto. It’s so personal.

  2. Dang. I missed your live stream….. and questions. I have to figure out how to get my notifications set up. I'm looking to move to Portugal, within the next 6 months, from Virginia. My lease is up in July and I would like to go over there after it is up. I know that we have the 90 day tourist visa, being American, and the extension that can be requested. The US has just become to political for me, and I don't want to be a a part of the daily bombardment from the corporate media anymore. Life is too short.

Anyway…. I do have a question. As far as the D7 goes. I currently work here in the United States. We are stopping remote work this week….. and I do classified work anyway, so I wouldn't be able to work remotely out of the country. However, I was looking to change jobs (in the next few months), and look for remote work that I can do from anywhere in the world. My question is…. can someone go to Portugal on the D7 with a reasonable savings set aside (say between 50k and a 100k) for the move, but has no remote job setup yet, or other sources of revenue (not collecting retirement, social security or dividends, etc.)?
Wouldn't this be enough to easily pay yourself (for years), at the yearly rate that they want in your bank account, and revenue to be paid to yourself monthly?
I'm guessing that you would take a 10% hit on paying yourself, in taxes, on your income to yourself, though. Can I be over in Portugal on the tourist visa, in between this job and the next, and switch over to the D7, once I've established remote work?
Scouring the internet I haven't found whether this can this be done?
Thanks for the video… and thanks for any help that you can offer.

  3. Great lightning round… I see lots of my fellow Coloradans in the chat. Seems like a lot of us are planning to leave while the market is so over priced here 🙂

  4. Is it super easy to obtain residency for E.U. citizens? I would imagine it is fairly simple. . . I lived as a resident of Italy a number of years ago, which was not hard to obtain as an E.U. citizen. It's probably comparable there in Portugal I would imagine.

  5. Having great faith in your ability to keep it to 30 minutes I set the playback speed to 1.25x. It worked perfectly. At the risk of being called a chauvinist one of you definitely talks faster and undoubtedly gets more words in every day. You guys are a blast. Thanks for the info.
