Total failure! Spain refuses to change Brexit red tape, British expats lean towards mass exodus
After the UK left the EU, expats and visitors to Spain faced new challenges. Since the Brexit transition period ended just over two years ago, UK citizens can only stay in the Schengen Area for 90 days in any 180-day period. Citizens of the UK must have a visa from their home country.

They're not expats. They're immigrants.
No matter how bad it gets in Spain. No one in their right mind would want to go back to Britain where things are always worse along with the weather.
What Brexit has done to the British. Was those who wanted to turn Spain into the costa del Britain.
Who were always semi-detached. Now find they actually have to make a choice.
Give up on Britain entirely, which means selling up in the U.K, or paying a great deal in tax.
Or returning to Boris's Britain and selling up in Spain.
You pay's your money and makes your choice. But please do it without whinging.

Well, looks like Spain have control of its borders and Spanish are taking back their country.

An "expat" is somebody living abroad for a short time, e.g. a contract of a few years' duration.
These people sound like "immigrants" not "expats".
Why should they change EU regulations? For a bunch of xenophobic, ignorant holiday makers who ignore laws and are usually too drunk to know where they actually are. Brits are at last finding out what it is like on the other side of the looking glass.

For those who were stupid enough to vote for Brexit, then I have no sympathy. For those who voted against Brexit (the actual majority, in 2019, the actual vote, were against Brexit), then it's a disaster.

Never thought I would say this; But after seeing the performance of Von-der-Leyden and Roberta Metsola President of European Parliament when faces with the Zelensky Azov dilemma, I am beginning to see that Nigel Farage has a point about the EU. NATO has just lost Zelensky's Ukraine Oil and Gas reserves to EU and this will push Putin to take all of Kiev and Ukraine and the USA & UK will then deal with Putin to cut out EU. The new member and non-member Baltic States are driving EU agenda now and it is all about who control global money USD Petro Dollars energy oil gas nuclear now. EU adventurism East is NATO expansionism East with unpredictable consequences.

Just come home Ex Pats.If you are not welcome there spend your cash in the U.K Because the UK decided to leave a controlling gang in Brussel doesn't mean the Spanish have to treat them badly.
The UK itself declined freedom of movement. The racists over there did not want it, just to get rid of Europeans. It is the UK that chose for this. Those Brits could also have just requested a Spanish passport and so on.

After holidaying here for around 20 years , the referendum vote in 2016 ensured my departure from plague island. After much research ahead of the coming shitshow, I obtained my N.I.E before leaving, ensured that I had the credentials for legal residency, paid tax on my property purchase, registerd my padron at the town hall, pay local tax, income tax, learned enough of the language to enable communication with the police for residency interview (they decide who will be granted residency or who will not) , the next bit is easy, integrate with the locals and enjoy life. Love from the EU and Gran Canaria.
