Exclusive | Doing post mortem of events during Portuguese era not good for the country: Goa Governor

There is no need to do the post-mortem of what the Portuguese did and left. The time has come to focus on our heritage and culture. Goa being a part of the Indian union, Indian laws are applicable in Goa, he said. “With heritage and the arrival of Portuguese, Goa already had an exceptional circumstance in place. These incidents are part of history and conducting a post mortem over these incidents and blaming anyone is not good for the country,” said Goa Governor P. S. Sreedharan Pillai in an exclusive conservation with Herald TV.

  1. Yes .The truth has come out from horse's mouth.Even the Ex.President of India in his book My Presidential Years stated that he retracing the footprints of Vasco – de- Gama while visiting Portugal. The need of the hour is how to equalise Indian Rupee to Euro in terms of its value & efficacy.

  2. Sir you pls give advice to promod sawant cos our Portuguese were better then this bjp government here in goa. Cos Portuguese save and kept for goa and goans but these bjp government destroyed and sold our goa for ghantis..

  3. The Governor's statement is absolutely right. What has happened centuries ago can not be changed. It is history. But the BJP & the current CM Mr Sawant are staunch RSS supporters & are all out to destroy the communal harmony that has existed for centuries in Goa.

  4. Hats of to you Sir Pillai. No wonder Kerala is the topmost literate country in India. Goans although educated and broadminded lag behind in many aspects. What destroys Goa and goans is the ego, pride, greed and crab pulling mentality in many citizens more so with power hungry politicians. Wake up political leaders develop Goa but please save its harmony. Do something constructive rather than being destructive. Think about the future of goan children you hard hearted leaders.

  5. INDIA IS MY COUNTRY I LOVE MY COUNTRY ALL INDIANS ARE MY BROTHERS AND SISTERS NO MATTER WHAT RELIGION I'M. WE ALL R FROM ONE GOD PLEASE DO NOT DIVIDE US. GOD BLESS GOA. 🙏❤🤲🤝👏👲🧕🤵

  6. Really Sir. You are really God's blessing. May Jesus protect you and show you the right path. We may be of any religion have to face death and judgement of God. Why to look backward present generation is not responsible for that.
