Hi guys, I am Alex.

I am an Ukrainian expat who moved to Portugal.
No one in my family ever did any farming, But I discovered that I am very passionate about farming so recently I’ve purchased this 28 hectares Farm in Central Portugal, with the intention to start a small scale farm raising worms, cattle and sheep.

In this little farm I am also planning to build an off grid home, and be as self sufficient as possible, by growing my own food.

I created this channel to share my journey with the world, The journey of a first generation farmer, that is starting with no prior knowledge and experiences.
That maybe all the mistakes that I will make along this journey, and all the fails maybe will help some of you to learn from my mistake and not make them yourself.
I want to bring value and inspire people who are thinking about farming.

I am not a filmmaker or an editor, I am just a simple guy with a camera.

So if it is interesting to you, subscribe to the channel and you will not miss the upcoming episodes.

  1. Your drive way will look awesome when you clean it on both sides of the road and around all the trees and around the grape vines and trim the tree limbs from hitting the top of the truck and cars and when you are on the tractor. Also can you widen it some more for the bigger trucks to make it through there? While the low wet area is dry now you should fill it in with some rocks and soil so you don't get stuck in it when you try driving on it during the wet season. So much to do around there , it will keep you and your dad busy all the time.

  2. Just a random comment 😝
We are about 8 billion people on Earth. If we give each of them 100 m2, we get an occupied surface of 800 billion m2, i.e. 800,000 km2. A country with this area is Mozambique. The area represents 0.15% of the total surface of the globe and 0.53% of the land area. The remaining 99.47% would represent territory not occupied by humans. Desert. If a similar calculation is made in which man is related, with how much he consumes, to natural resources (total, not just those in exploitation) comparable results are obtained in order of magnitude. That is, zero point. The water? Two thirds of the earth's surface is water. 70.8%. If you also count the volume, human consumption reaches the level of a drop in an ocean. This is how the "ecological" theories begin… those with exhausted resources, global warming, the rapid reduction of the population and other satanisms of the Western billionaire buffoons, the biggest enemies of humanity in history!

  3. The handle of the abs is all you need to do is cut the end. so you can Drive a Wedge into the cut and Secure the Abs head in place. and soak the head in water to make it swell up so the Abs stays on the handle

  4. Hi Alex, your never alone with Angelica about. She checks your work, keeps you company and eats all the branches you give her. The hole I think was dug by a rabbit, in it now could be a lizard, spider, scorpion or just a big salamander. 🤔 still wouldn't stick my hand in it though. Your hoe you repaired well, sharpen it too and it will cut through any brambles. Your other road is usable and needs a few more branches removed.on the right side as your coming out. You have achieved a lot and the area is cleared for decking. Clearing around the olive tree was a good Idea so you can have shade as a respite from the heat of the day
UK we have rain at the min, I will send you some……hope your dad had a nice break/ rest. Stay safe hydrate ,have a good week ahead.

  5. Your doing very well with all that needs doing on the farm Alex. Glad you know it will take time to sort the house and you are not despondent but up beat with what your achieving. Love the videos. 👍🏽😎

  6. I'm sure Angela thinks she's a dog, she's adorable!
You are doing a great job cleaning and building!!!
As for the hole in the ground, I think you'll need two or three cats!
Because if it's a snake or a mouse, the cat knows what to do!!

  7. Hi Alex, Great work with the Brambles and rocks! your Dad will be pleased. Brambles are notorious for coming back, you are doing the right thing by getting the roots. I have subrcribed to your channel now as love watching your progress. Hope to be doing the same thing one day soon!! All the best to you both. Juliet

  8. Thanks for the vid….dude…use the backhoe to clear the area…between the hoe and the bucket..you should be able to clear the rocks and brush…my .02…you do work hard….👨‍🌾🚜👨‍🌾🌠🌠

  9. Hey Alex, great work, and you and Angela are a prize turn.
You mentioned concreting ?the ground where you cleared the brambles and stones? That's to make a verandah? I'm not an expert, but I would be careful about doing anything like that which could affect the runoff and drainage, until you see how everything performs in winter, when it rains (hopefully). Aren't you thinking of putting in a French drain, to keep your building's walls dry? Perhaps it would be better use gravel and perhaps you could do calcada, which you can change afterwards? It allows water to filtrate into the ground.

  10. Maybe there will be a snake nest or a rat nest or a mole’s nest , or a dormouse . You have to know also that the hares dig something like a swallows hole to make a nest. You have to pay attention but in most circumstances digging a hole as an animal helped the routes get air. So don’t get upset

  11. kissé fárasztó ez a dinamika, kínosan lassú magyarázatok után, extra gyorsított történések, de ez van, nyilván nem kötelező program

  12. Alex brother, commendable tht you are doing it alone with just dad to help. Do get some power tools as your dad shouldnt suffer any harm lifting such heavy loads. Best wishes frm UAE.
