DIY Work on My Off Grid Barn Conversion in Portugal & Chocalhos Fun!

Work continues on my solo, DIY tiny house barn conversion in Central Portugal where I attempt to drill a mega hole through a 55cm granite wall and carry on working on the never-ending wooden kitchen cabinets.

But it’s not all work and no fun around here! September is for Chocalhos, a three-day festival celebrating all things sheep (and so much more!) in Alepedrinha, a nearby village. The Saturday is my favourite night of the year and I’ll bring you along at the end of the video for some sights and sounds of the festa!

Make sure to stick around to the very end for some ridiculousness of the highest order!

  1. If you combine sawdust with glue then apply to gaps wiping off excess you'll get better results.
Love seeing the wood after sanding, very satisfying. Keep up the good work 👍
Bet you had a sore head the morning after your night out!

  2. Good to see you still at it…kitchen is coming along. I know the rain is welcome, but I’ll feel so much better when you have some storage and a bit of covered space to work in outside in the rain. It will be a challenge to work inside in such cramped quarters. I enjoyed seeing the “fiesta”. Looks like an upbeat friendly sort of place to live and you are looking a little more rested. Keep up the good work!

  3. HELLO KIRSTY…I BELIEVE YOU MAY BE GETTING THE OUTER BANDS OF HURRICANE FIONA…WHICH IS A MASSIVE HURRICANE AFFECTING BOTH SIDES OF THE ATLANTIC…I AM ON THE WEST COAST OF CANADA, SO, IT WILL NOT AFFECT US HERE…BUT, THE EAST COAST IS GOING TO GET HAMMERED TONIGHT TIL SATURDAY NIGHT & THEN, ON TO THE OUTER PROVINCE OF NEWFOUNDLAND…I CAN SEE YOUR WORK IS PROGRESSING & KEEP GOING…YOU'RE GETTING SOMEWHERE…ALL THE BEST…🙏🏻;)

  4. Great to see you all having a great time at the festival letting your hair down……or should I say letting your beer down. Lol that puppet beer game looked hilarious and good for you Kirsty for giving it a go. 😂😂 XxKathleen from Greenock Scotland
