hi
Hi Could l get a reply from email:)
Thank you so much for your advice about doing small or few jobs in a day. Having accomplished 3 small jobs today I feel as proud as punch.
Cindy, you need water bars at particular places along the road. There are small ditches that direct the water off to the side of the road
you need a man with a heavy duty jack hammer to break up some of the granite and boulders when making 'channels' for water to drain off the road to where you want it. It's a challenge for sure!
Cindy, there are lots of ideas and advice from your subscribers. I imagine that it’s a comfort seeing how everyone tries to help with any issues that crop up?!
Good luck with the road issues, I literally have no advice or expertise to offer🤣🐶🐶❤️❤️❤️
hi Cindy you need to make like what we call in uk A cattle grid/ drain across the road , from where the water come down from the field. make a trench and the water can come down to the water mine area. ask your British friends for help and advise.
your need a friend with the digger that you use before wen he flat the area in front of the cottage.
i always enjoy your videos.
well done parabems
I always look forward to watching your videos. I adore your dogs and pigs. Just one suggestion: Don’t zoom in so much when filming. 🙂
you need to add a few embankments (walletjies) across the road.
Well I m a builder, not a road builder though. If the ditches on the road are going down to pure hard stone, granite maybe, I woulf fill up the gaps with concrete….at least the deepest ones.
There has been some washout. With rain there comes the positive and negative. I wonder if the granite will have to be jack hammered a bit. Or trade in for a truck that rides higher off the ground, or Nick may have a better solution.🙂👍👍🐕🐕
🙂
just realized others suggested the same idea of creating cement above the ground/boulders …. good advice from them too
The idea of a trench or swale is just dumb — pardon my straight talk / opinion.
Use CEMENT to build a barrier at an angle to "persuade" the water to stay away from the road, and direct it towards where you want it to go.
I would concentrate at the worst area first, and decide on an initial height at those worst areas.
Obviously in years past it also rained … so there should be an obvious pattern of run-off.
And obviously, you will need help.
Maybe build a frame of some length that can ve used and removed and reused… and collect gravel from the end area of the runoff and use it as a filler within the frame for the cement. Try placing rebar strategically within the framed area to hold the cement to the earth or rock area.
A significant task.
The granite rock dictates the foolishness of "drains" "swales" …. why fight it?
Cindy, does your region have a department of farming and agriculture that you could use as a resource to find an agriculture engineer to consult with you for hydro issues re swells and roads?
Thanks for your vid Cindy 😇💟💟💟 Love you.
