Exploring abandoned places is my hobby and finance it all out of my own pocket and the donations I get from the people who love watching the documentaries we make… A small donation would be greatly appreciated! ►

This time we will take you to the mysterious mansion of the former Fortuna family, which is located on top of a snow-covered mountain and is reached by an endless winding road.

Since the beginning of the 1900s the Fortuna family used to call this house their home, they were an extremely influential family in the American real estate business and held properties all over the continental USA.

Gladys was the only descendant of the Fortuna Family and naturally inherited the wondrous White Mountain Mansion and all the wealth his family accumulated over their successful past.

He met a fine lady named Sheila, and they fell in love at first sight and got married only a short time later, subsequently, she moved into the white mansion with Gladys, and sometime later they got their one and only child Olivia, Gladys was not very interested in real estate and decided to start a new company in the trade of Rare Objects together with his wife Sheila, they would do business all over the USA in the following decades and became experts in their field.

Gladys and Sheila seemed like the perfect couple. They were loved by their neighborhood and did everything they could to help society. But unfortunately, they didn’t get to enjoy their old days. Gladys died in her early 70s, and Sheila died of Breast Cancer a few years later, in the year 2000.

Olivia having inherited their massive fortune and having been set up for a life of luxury seemingly disappeared from planet earth, nobody knows her whereabouts and nothing has been done with the mansion ever since her passing.

Let us try today to uncover the mysteries that surround the mansion and give you one last glimpse of its glory!

  1. Hey dear Lesley, what a wonderful explore video full of charme about that huge abandoned mansion with still some real timecapsule
like rooms! Amazing to watch! I especially love the lovely positive energy you are spreading with your warmhearted personality. In this way
you are providing all your Urbex videos with an unique touch.
Also Danny did again an excellent job as your cameraman. – Very interesting background story and again so well told by you!
Your Urbex videos belong to those with the highest possible quality regarding the commentary and filming! Respect, bro!
I enjoyed every second of your video, and I am already looking very much forward to your next explore adventure.
Stay safe, and take care! – Many hugs, peace and kindest regards from now rather cold Switzerland.

  2. Abandoned then vandalized . I don't understand why people feel the need to vandalize property. All the broken windows and the place left open it is falling to pieces. I find that extremely sad.

  3. It’s kinda weird to me you guys come from your country to America to basically violate someone’s home. I feel like this is trespassing and you shouldn’t be going in there. It’s just not right

  4. I don't understand how a house can become so decayed in under 25 years since Sheila passed. It is very sad. In the beginning you were questioning an ornament on the mantle it is called a nativity scene that usually people would display at Christmas time since it representing the baby Jesus and mother Mary in the manger. At the end that is called traveling chest, very expensive and you are correct mostly only the well off had them. The way you express what you see is delightful like a child in a candy store thank you for sharing such a wonderful place.

  5. Urbex and Chill toured this house 3 years ago. It was still in a decent condition. Much of the features of the house have been stolen. The fireplace in Sheila’s dressing room was stolen and most of the figurines were stolen too.

  6. What I don't seem to understand is why is this home as well as others appear to be ransacked?for example, Drawers opened clothes thrown around room. I can't imagine the owners left it this way.

  7. There is a YouTube channel called “restoration nation” it would be great if the families could get in touch with them to see if there is any hope of saving some of these old houses. Connie

  8. Could the name be Fortune with an E. Tried to dig up some info, what i could come up with theres a Gladys O Wilson Fortune and Shelia Fay Fortune (her spelling Shelia on business card not Sheila) in Texas linked to the same address and also that house in New York. Possibly as they aged they retired to Texas, since you said they dealt with real estate all over. Both above deceased, she was 20 yrs younger, he died in 2010 at 88yrs and she in 2022 at 79yrs. Which would make sense if house was left around 2000. Nothing on Olivia connected to them. Found house 4452sf. could have possibly been built in 1815?? Did it have 6 bedrooms on 5 1/2 acres?

  11. What a great video. So much beautiful and valuable furniture left. I see at least 30,000 dollars worth of furniture on the three floors being snowed and molded on. Such a shame. I love seeing these abandoned videos but I hate to see such beautiful interior woodwork just left to decay after so much skill, time, money and other valuable recourses went into its creation. Such a waste and destruction of lovely interiors and furniture that almost no one would have the skill or money to recreate.

  12. I just had total deja vu with the photo of the child writing symbols on the chalkboard. I swear I have seen that in another video. I don't know if it was yours or someone else's, though.
