  1. You're a beautiful couple & I really admire the journey you're on. But, I'm worried; about if you're home is legally habitable. By that I mean are you legally allowed to reside in any of the current buildings or can you build on farm land. I hope you are able to; been following other homestead searchers & they had to pass on some properties because they were not registered as residence. Would hate for you to put a lot of energy into a space you can not reside in. 🙏🧘‍♀️

  2. Your doing amazing. A few tips 1 insolation, it's going to get very cold during the winter. 2 waterproof the water pump. It will get wet. 3 you need to extend the exhaust up out of the roof. Gass fumes can kill you. Or install it outside. The flue needs to be above the food. They get hot and will scorch the wood.
I wish you the best of luck always.

  3. The flue from the water heater needs to be vented outside or you could risk carbon monoxide poisoning not to be messed around with love the channel but please follow the instructions I know instanious water heater are very common abroad but are usally positioned outside be safe.

  4. A u-bend under the sink will stop smells coming up if it goes into a container of water that will become stagnant. Also, the sink may not drain if it has a flat bottom so you could thump it with a hammer to have a slight drop to drain slowly and put a ring around the base so it sits stably. Something like a socket from a socket set that is around the same size as the metal plughole may do for this.

  5. If you put the same amount of planning and thought into your actual home as you have your out house you will have a spectacular palace. The thought and planning really shines through. I am both impressed and proud at what you have accomplished. Great job!

  6. It's my favourite couple, yay!! Great progress guys, you two are naturals. Bravo! I wish I was there, I'd give you two a hand, oh and a beer for Dan & wine for the lady.

  7. Everything is looking great, Dan is very handy!! Is it self taught or was he a plumber back in the UK? A Q and A would be great as we can learn more about why you decided to move, what you did back in the UK etc. I really admire you for pursuing your dream!! Can't wait for the next video!

  8. You both are doing really well, planning and realizing how to make the things you need work.
The cabin is outstanding and I suppose that , after that, you can make other essential buildings. All the very best Dan and Laurel. Love your vids

  9. Great job you two! Been watching for some time and your property is looking great. Hard work for sure We have property in Washington state,USA. Loving it too. Thanks for sharing your projects my husband made me a outhouse too lol. Had to share. Much love sweetie

  10. BEST OUTHOUSE i've seen! looking great.. I particularly like Dan's explanation of what he is doing and why. very professional. one thing I would pass along, is the bark looks nice, but will cause your wood to rot fast and harbor bugs. love the flooring and your skills are awesome. regards from Oregon

  11. Awesome! TIP! On the Water Pump. You have a filter on that pump, on the right in the video. That screen will filter out sediments and junk. Please check that screen (it just unscrews) each month for junk that is filtered out. As you get a feel for how much junk is coming through, adjust the frequency of checking, and cleaning out that filter. Moss, algae, and sediments will cut the water flow signicantly. I learned that on my Shurflow water pump as well while camping. 🙂 Looking GREAT!

  12. Fantastic video guys! You've done Brilliantly on the outhouse toilet and shower, looks great basic functional and rustic and great idea having the plumbing bits outside in an access box once it's weather tight. Well done looks great!
    Cheers from London 👍😎🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿

  13. Phenomenal effort guys and I love the outhouse 👍 Just so you know the wooden slats over the electrical box on the outside of the outhouse are overlapping the wrong way, if you have a downpour it’ll get destroyed. The back slat needs to overlap the one in front and so on otherwise the rain will just drip between each slat. Sure you know this anyway and was just a tiny oversight but I’d rather mention it than you destroy your metre 👍 Loving the content! 💪🥳👍
