Carl – I started watching you on Expats Portugal and I enjoy the way you host. I'm sure you will be very successful on your own. On this particular show, I didn't enjoy the interruption from T-Duck(?). It seemed hostile and rude to the guest…that was my impression. That's the crappy behavior many of us are trying to get away from by moving to a saner and safer Portugal. Perhaps, he wants to be interviewed to share his opinions rather than hiding behind the camera. Kudos for the way in which Sally handled the situation. She was right in her assessment of his behavior.

I love that Sally's being intense comes from a place of love and wanting the world to be a better place. I hope we can be friends when we move to Portugal. I am not really interested in being friends with people who come from a place of hatred of others who are different and wanting "some people" to be hurt. I am too old to invite hateful people into my life. Hopefully this post does not also get deleted….I may have gotten too close to someone's political comfort zone.

60% of Americans have at least one election denier on the ballot in 2022 who say they will hand Trump the win no matter the voters say…..this woman is NOT an alarmist. The US is about to become a dictatorship in 2024 if they republicans are successful in their plans. In my swing state (that matters to UK/EU peeps who actually have popular vote wins) we have 3 election deniers running who say they will hand Trump the election in 2024 if they win next month…..every single swing state is in the same position as mine. These election deniers only have to win a few swing states to overthrow the government on paper……plus she is correct that in a recent poll about 25 million Trump supporters say they are willing to use violence to install Trump again. Sally is not being an alarmist…..she is just showing she is paying attention to what is happening in the US…..most people are not paying attention or are paying attention, but don't actually believe it will happen. I plan to move to Portugal before Americans start fleeing en masse in 2024 when they realize what is actually happening. I also started looking for an "escape" country….but the more I looked into PT, the more I realized that the PT people share my values of being kind and accepting of others. I do hope am wrong about the US or that the elections next month prove me to be an alarmist….but I don't think I am.

Sally, you should meet up with my wife from NY. She sounds like and is worried about the same things as you. We were in Caldas last week on a scouting trip too!
