Dunno why but this game always sticks in my mind, 1st day of the season, was an evening kick off, and I could be wrong but I believe it was the 1st live premier league game shown on another station other than sky (in the uk, I know RTE showed some games live in Ireland)
And therefore making it the 1st prem game live on setanta sports….

Maybe it's just now because I'm hitting 30 I look back at everything from my youth with rose tinted goggles, but I genuinely think this was one of my fave premier league seasons, even though as a Newcastle fan wasn't a great one for us,
I remember before this match, being absolutely delighted because we beat Bolton 3-1, genuinely believed we were going places with a new billionaire owner and big Sam, 🙈 how wrong I was
