Azores – Hike above Lajes Village – Pico Island – Portugal – A perfect sunny day – Ep 88

Hi Guys,

On this weeks video we take you on a scenic hike with us. On this trek we explore the beautiful countryside area just above the seaside village of Lajes, located on the south coast of Pico Island.

From this area above the village we experience fresh air with amazing dramatic views of the countryside, the ocean, Lajes village and Pico mountain.

These healthy walks/hikes are important to us and our wellness, we hope you enjoyed tagging along.

Feel free to like, comment and subscribe
Love having you with us on our journey,
Carlos and Laura
xoxo

  1. Pico is a feast for the eyes. The highlands look ideal for a hike!, glad you're enjoying. I'm doing an Azores trip in September for my 30th, made it my mission to dive into as many waterfalls as possible. I feel like big city life has been sold as the ideal.. I think the reality is that simplicity and returning to nature is where the real wealth lies.
    Keep enjoying your paradise!
    All the best

  2. Hi! Thank you for these videos; they’re beautiful. Have you seen many ancient ruins?! I’ve been doing a bit of satélite archaeology on Google earth and am incredibly fascinated by the hidden ancient history of the azores 🌺

  3. Love all that nature…..how can you not feel relaxed with all that beauty…..it’s an instant feeling!!! Enjoy and savour every moment…..keep the videos coming….love how you explain things, it’s so helpful!!!❤️😘

  4. A snowcap on Pico is amazing.. I had heard that it happened but I expected more in February. Please comment on the ground shaking on Sao Georges and the possible dangers of an eruption on the next island over. Ponto???

  5. you two are fantastic… thank you so much for the video.. I understand what you are saying so well… I feel the same… In Pico time passes slowly this is a sign that life is really lived… I live in London and it's the opposite, here time flies very fast… I think we will come back there because of your inspiring videos 😂😂 😂 hugs… and all the best… ❤️❤️

  6. Beautiful!

Is there concern in Pico about the nearby earthquakes in Sao Jorge? There was a magnitude 4.0 in the last 24 hours and wondering if this is worrying the other islands at this time? Family in Sao Miguel said they haven't felt anything yet that is related to the Sao Jorge island but Pico is much closer so I hope all is good there.

I was there in Sao Miguel this winter and noticed some new homes are now being built with steel frames and dry wall like in North America as it's safer in these earthquake zones. I hope the building codes start to change there.

  7. … your vlogs are so relaxing , beautiful … stay well … hugs to both of you Carlos & Laura … keep these coming they make my day 💙💙💙💙👌🏼👌🏼‼️‼️‼️

  8. Hey Carlos and Laura, great place for a hike, thank you for sharing. Might do it this week.
Regarding the houses in the pastures, they were used to store the dry corn tops (espiga do milho) or corn stock (cana do milho). Probably also to store potatoes.

  9. Thank you Carlos and Laura for sharing your journey. I must confess a little envy, seeing you guys exploring the breathtaking islands of the Azores or should I say the islands of Atlantis 🙂 My dream is to travel there in the future when I'm less tied down, I also hope I will bump into you guys! Sending you peace, love and happiness from the U.K.

  10. We arrive on Pico tomorrow. Sao Mateus will be our home base. Finishing our Azorian vacation having been to Sao Miguel (Furnas and Sete Cidades) our favs. Flores Island (Faja Grande) area our fav. Will definitely come back!
