Citizenship by Investment Programs are on the edge right now, and we hear more bad news every single day.

Bulgarian CBI program has officialy ended, so this is not an option anymore! They still offer residency by investment program, but it’s not really clear whether you’ll be able to qualify for citizenship after 5 years.

This program was never really popular, due to its poor execution and long timelines. Even though it’s a compelling EU passport, only about 100 applicants have gone through this program since 2013.

At the same time, all 5 Carribean Citizenship by Investment Programs have been closed to Russians. However, this was not completely unexpected since things are becoming more and more unavailable to Russians altogether.

Maltese CBI program also closed its doors to applicants from Russia and Belorus.

All these changes are a good reminder for everyone to ACT as SOON as POSSIBLE. Just because a citizenship by investment program is available today, doesn’t mean you’ll be able to take advantage of it tomorrow. So if you’re conidering getting a second passport, do it sooner rather than later.

Who are we and what do we do?

We are Offshore Citizen team. We help people become global: get a second passport, set up a second residency, pay less taxes, do banking abroad, etc.

We have lots of interesting articles on different topics, we have relevant information up to date.

  1. As a russian citizen, I was shocked but now I realised that I don't need EU anyways. They pass more and more crazy regulations and taxes. I will get Turkish citizenship and El Salvador citizenship (open soon) when market pumps a little bit more. I don't need west, I think future of freedom is in non-liberal countries.

  2. Did anyone think about the Turkish/Mexico CBI combo? This is open to all. Turkey has rare Mexican access and Mexican TR has quite a unique benefit, check my comparison video on this…

  3. I get it. If you are a citizen of Russia, or a citizen of a Russian ally, CBI is closed off to you. I also get it as well; today Russia, tomorrow Canada (c'mon), the US (more realistic) or any other Western country and time is always of the essence to strike the iron when it's hot. Problem with me is…I can't afford CBI yet. But hopefully one day!

  4. Hello Mike. I am just confused. I wanted to know since I will be working in Jersey soon as a NURSE in your government Hospital there. How many years do I need to work in Jersey in order for me to be eligible to apply for a PERMANENT RESIDENT like what they call ILR in UK?( indefinite leave to remain) hoping to hear from you soon.

  5. So, are these programs closed to prime applying with a Russian passport or to Russian citizens by birth all together? Could American refugee travel document still work for someone who spent last 15 years in the US, where that was an option?

  6. It doesn’t surprise me at all that Bulgarian CBI is being shut down. It seemed massively inefficient and unpredictable. Long waits without much certainty.
Which is too bad because it’s a decent passport, for reasonable investment terms.
I’m really curious to see if there are going to be more European CBIs introduced in the near future.

  7. Michael I have to speak up. If you have any integrity you would not be supporting or helping Russians to get CBI. Very disappointing – it is not all about making money without morals
