The blue flag Praia do barranco beach is separated from Olhos de Agua beach by a serious of rocks which can be passed during low tide. Although it can be a challenge to get to, the effort is well worth it. This well-maintained quiet bay offers a great range of water sports to enjoy, with surfing and windsurfing being the most popular, thanks to the large waves. You’ll find several showers, great restaurant”O Golfinho” and water sport kiosks where you can hire pedaloes and jet ski’s, as well as a number of parking spaces in the area.
To get to the Beach you can go through a sidewalk or cross a winding track with an exuberant vegetation. Many birds take advantage of this forest area and some build shelters and nests in the rocky walls. That is the case of the colourful Bee-eater (Abelharuco in Portuguese) that gave the name to this Beach.
The sandy area is wide and goes until the Falésia Beach.
