Amager Beach Park is busy all day long in the summer, and there is no doubt that it is one of the best spots to spend the long Copenhagen summer days and bright evenings.
The vast beach on Amager is a unique combination of natural surroundings and big-city atmosphere, which has transformed the once maligned island in Copenhagen into the kind of delightful experience you normally have to travel abroad to find.
The park was founded in 1934 and in 2005 a 2 km-long (1.2 mi) artificial island was added.
