In this 4k Portugal travel vlog, we head from the city of Porto to Braga, where we learn Braga was voted the “Best Destination in Europe” in 2021! We set out to find out why…

Braga has the highest concentration of religious buildings in Portugal. At first, we thought they would be similar to other cities we’ve visited in Europe. We quickly learned that Braga’s religious architecture was incredibly unique! Both the Cathedra of Braga and Bom Jesus du Monte had really unique elements that we haven’t seen in other places in Europe (and trust us – we have visited a LOT of churches – they’re nearly always free, so they’re budget-friendly!). Bom Jesus du Monte has interesting history, too. Pilgrims used to go up to the chapel, climbing all the 577 stairs on their knees, as a tribute to the pain Jesus felt while being crucified. The sunset from on top of the hill was simply amazing.
