I don't know how many times I have watched this clip and I can't get over the ecstatic feeling I get doing so!!! It's almost like living in a beautiful dream! Eritrea as an unapologetic African nation and it's people of indomitable spirit despite the hardships they are faced with everyday, are reflected in the tenacious spirit displayed by this once in a lifetime athlete. Loved the way he was depicted by the British announcer, his incredible ability to describe what is visible to every sports fan is simply unmatched by any play by play personalities around the globe hence kudos to you Sir as you made watching this historic moment extremely fun to witness! Moreover, the sportsmanship displayed by Mr. Vanderpool was immense. I was always proud of who I am as an Eritrean living in Canada 🇨🇦 but this kid by the name Biniam Girmay has even galvanized my identity to soar to a higher ground and for that I will be forever indebted to him.
