This is another update on our Portuguese reno, here on Pico Island, Azores. We have made some more progress and wanted to share it with you.
By getting a closer look of what we have been doing, it might be of some value for those of you considering doing the same thing. Especially if you are considering doing a reno in the Azores, the 7th region of Portugal.
We are starting to see the light getting brighter at the end of the hall, but there is still a lot of work ahead of us.

A question: So all the walls are concrete/brick right? And you are putting up dry walls against the concrete walls? I assume they are nailed to 2X4s? And are you insulating between the concrete walls facing the outside and dry walls as they do in the US/Cananda?
I suggest you do a video on health care in the Azores. On our very recent trip (home 4 days) I had a medical emergency. I am okay and the experience was a positive view of medical care in the Azores.
It looks really nice so far. Good decision to put the blocks on the top of the walls to fill it in, you have some knowledgeable brains working for you. Looking forward to seeing how your bathroom looks once completed. You may want to give the outside window frames a coat of paint, or are you getting new ones?
Looks great! I've been watching your channel for over a year now and will be visiting Pico for a couple of days later this month. Might swing by and check out the house from the outside, weather permitting. 🙂

After 11 days in the Azores we have returned home to the state of Idaho (cold and snow). On Pico we stayed at 35 Atlantic View just because of your video on the property, we really liked it. To get to Pico we were to fly from Terceira but weather was so bad they flew us to Faiel. They put us on the small ferry to Pico, the sea was very bad and the trip was horrific!! I really appreciate all the detailed info that you guys have put into this video. When we eventually decide to make our own home bar and connect the kitchen to the former living room, I have a feeling that all of what you're doing now is going to be very helpful to us then. And I also have a feeling I might have to pay you to tell me some of the things you're not showing haha! 😉 Seriously though, you both will probably be able to have a business in home renovation consulting with all the knowledge you're gaining from this whole project. Doing well. Did you put a ventilator in the bathroom? Just for the wiring before you start tiling up the place. I will be a speaker for the seminar next spring so let's meet up this winter. Good idea to make the ceiling a little higher, gives a much better feel. We always use these LED spot lights, they are easy, cheap and give a really good light in the house.

You’re so fortunate to be able to have a house in such a beautiful place.. it is a dream for me to come and visit pico and see where my grandfather was born and lived until he was 15. He traveled by himself by ship to Massachusetts and settled in California developing property he bought in San Gregorio California. It is a beautiful place and I loved every minute I spent there as a young girl. I’ll continue to follow your progress
