Various media outlets, including The Times and the Financial Times, have published articles on the decision of the Home Secretary to terminate the Tier 1 (Investor) visa route. It is evident that the Home Office will soon make an official announcement.

So What Are The Recent Changes?

The Tier 1 (Investor) visa route has experienced substantial transformations in recent years. Some of these changes are as follows:

The lowest investment amount was raised from £1million to £2million;
Property investments no longer qualify;
Government bonds (gilts) are no more eligible investments for new applications;
Source of funds requirement increased to 2 years;
Candidates must demonstrate that they hold a UK bank account with a regulated financial institution.
