Beijos e abraços,
Carissa, Iwan, Frankie & Albi

Carissa, Iwan & Frankie decided one night over a bottle of wine that moving from North Wales to Portugal would be a good idea. Within a month they were on the road to Portugal to find the perfect piece of land to call their new home. We picked up Albi the cat along the way. Subscribe to follow our journey as we turn an old stone barn into our home, and learn the ropes of looking after a piece of land to make an abundant garden and one day, our very own winery.

  1. Thanks for sharing your experience and beautiful property. It's a shame to burn organic matter. Everything can be turned into compost and prevent further air pollution. Just pile it up all in a corner, preferably mixed with green matter like grass and in a couple of years even thicker branches will be decomposed. Lush, rich, free compost for the veg.

  2. You guys need to set up a "Buy Me A Coffee" account to help with costs, it's free! Ask Nick or Cindy Vine about it. I try to watch every ad so YouTube will start paying you.
Great work! ❤ from Toronto 🇨🇦

  3. hi, i would love to be your neighbor 🙂 do you think itseasy to get helpers ? i dont know where you live, but i noticed in rural portugal are very few young people working the farms, most move to villages or towns for other types of work. do you think you want more land? my husband and i dont have children ( im using my hubby account by the way), so all the work would be by us after our regular job is finished at 5pm, seems 1.5 acres is a lot for two of us to keep, then again you re younger than us. i would love to have a cow, i dream of having fresh milk, making my own butter, cheese and ice cream, or sheep to have wool, the skins and of course lamb chops yummy, 🤩

  4. It's a bit short notice, but I'll be in Castelo Branco tomorrow around half ten with more veg. I'll park near the washing machines. If you can't make it we can arrange another day.

  5. all that grass and vegetation you're cutting and pulling out is probably full of bugs — if you threw the lot into the chicken yard I'd bet they would really love pecking for bugs!!

  6. Bless your patreon subsciber!!! Oh how she has helped your life. And what a difference a year of hard work and joys and some tears has made in your land. You should come up with a name for it. Frankie is too cute!!!

  7. It is enlighten to see more of your hard work you do. You have made a alot of progress I see right along. I am one of your faithful follows from the beginning. I always wait for you next step in life…. Keep showing puppy!!!

  8. Olá! I think you're so blessed to have that water source in your land and both wells full, given no rain since all this time…i imagine it will be helpful for you vegg garden to grow all year 💚 its a precious resource! very curious to see the little cottage evolution too! Abraço!

  9. Hi, my wife and I are fairly new viewers and we are puzzled as to where you actually live and sleep on your land, I hope you don't mind telling us as we love your episodes and look forward to the next ones each time you publish them.

  10. now you need a sturdy wagon to haul the bags of concrete and sand to the mixer. The land is starting to get really beautiful now that you are clearing away the brambles and weeds. In one year it will look like paradise.

  11. You are both working so hard to clear those vines, it looks never ending to me. It looks good though to see what you've done to clear the ground. It's great you've got a cement mixer at last, that'll make mixing cement much easier and more quickly. Xx

  12. Hello, I believe that March and April will be rainy months because popular wisdom has taught us that: "March, big March, winter mornings, summer afternoons!" and "in April, a thousand waters!" These popular sayings rarely fail. And we need rain…

  13. Looks like the well's overflow was channeled down that fence line, and some of the ground water as well. It will require a serious feature at the bottom of the fence line to convince the water to turn and head towards your some day pond instead of the marshy ground. Probably like a cement lined ditch.
