Finally I find out where to get most of the building materials to renovate my house in Portugal. Some of the materials i get delivered and some i have to pick up. Also my friends from Holland visit to help me with the renovation of the roof (and also have a little holiday). I’m very glad with the help, now we are making progress!!
Hope you enjoy this video!

The borax soup will explode the ant after they eat it so only use a little borax lots of sugar they take it back to their nest killing them all.

dont destroy the old really old roof tiles, people doing renovations need them… you can try to sell them on OLX or something https://www.olx.pt/ads/q-telhas-rusticas/
cheap homemade easy Aussies remedy
To keep the ants and bugs of your vegetables put two table spoons of crushed garlic in a litre of boiling water, a couple of drops of vegetable oil and the same of ordinary detergent. Strain when cold into a spray bottle and spray the plants, do both sides of the leaves and the stems. Your ants will be on the plants to collect the sugary secretions of other bugs. The oil and detergent stops the bugs from being able breath, and once they are gone your ants will not have anything to survive on either. I use this to keep aphids of my roses.
Otherwise if u can't get borax in portugal it should be in the laundry section. Use diatomaceous earth.
For ants you mix sugar and borax and put it near the ant colony in a saucer covered with a bigger saucer or not. The ants will take because of the sugar back to the colony as and that should kill the lot.
Have you seen there is also another Facebook page called The Portugal Project? Maybe you should adwise your wouldbe followers to look for your picture of the hammer? 😊
Quite a project, how much do you think it's going to cost to get it all renovated??
Borax laundry soap mixed with sugar half and half. put in jar laying on side near ant hill. They take back to ant hill queen dies they all die…this has worked always for ants as it has same properties in it as the ant killer from hardware store sells.
Yes recycle old tiles.so much u can use them like to make garden beds frames etc
If I was you I would hide does two little plants better and not show them on film, just saying…
What about other house renovation 😹😹😹😹😹😹
Ants love dead organic matter, clean up all the dead leaves etc hate water hate hate water blast them soak the area
The wood strips on the rafters for holding the tiles are called purlins.
cinnamon powder to get rid of ants
We used Nilzone at first, just to find out later that it actually doesn't work that well. You need xylopheen or some similar stuff to get your wood protected. I still use Nilzone for "free standing" projects like tables and such, but anything on the house itself… well we've learned that lesson.
What to do with all the tiles? The flat ones that are overlapping half on half are worth money… anybody restoring an old house knows they are hard to find. (the old ones), there is a modern version of them but the size is different. They are good for windy and stormy areas!
Use tiles with a little sand and cement to build boundary walls. Cheers from Australia
Got some chicken they eat ants good protein for chinken,, 🐥
Cinnamon is another organic treatment Ants cannot tolerate. Least until the rain. Good to see the project progressing. 👍👏
You are a good man for feeding the stray cat:)
I am not changing my original tiles don't dump the old unbroken tiles they have resale value. Consider eucalyptus it's very strong and if you leave it round Santa fe style then it's less work to process.
THE ANT ISSUE COULD BE B/C THERE ARE APHIDS (GREEN COLORED) THAT THEY ARE EATING & CULTIVATING…I'VE HAD THAT PROBLEM IN THE PAST…YOU MIGHT TRY PUTTING SOME MEAT OR SOME SWEET IN A BOWL A LITTLE WAYS AWAY…THEN, KEEP MOVING IT DAILY, WHEN YOU SEE THEM IN THE BOWL…TIL YOU HAVE IT FAR ENOUGH AWAY THAT ALL THE ANTS HAVE RE-COLONIZED…OUT OF THE GARDEN…;)
HI Jasper. Great video as usual. Can you help out a bit with recomendations on best places to buy your materials and rough costings please.
