The beach of São Pedro do Estoril is protected by a high cliff on the edge of the Estrada Marginal, a privileged area for those who enjoy angling. There are two accesses by stairs, in addition to a pedestrian tunnel under the road.
Often the sea has big waves that are quickly covered by surfers.
This beach is mainly used by those who live in the area, although it is an alternative for tourists looking for a quieter beach than those in the center of Estoril and Cascais.
An area of a new parking lot serves this beach which, as it is located close to the train station, is also easily accessible for users of the railway.
The beach is guarded during the bathing season and is served by two terraces.
The water is clean, transparent and, in the summer, it is usually calm. In the autumn and winter months, it tends to have stronger waves and, therefore, it is a beach for surfers. In fact, this was one of the first surf beaches in Portugal.
The bar with terrace is open all year and is a good place to relax while having a drink or snack overlooking the sea.
