Cascais, Portugal – Walking Through (& Lisbon to Cascais Train)

In recent years Cascais Portugal has become a location in Portugal that many Americans think about moving to. I can understand the attraction to the city and I even had the thought about moving to Cascais myself… However, this was years ago… While it can be nice to visit Cascais, I can’t say that I would want to move to Cascais. In this travel vlog episode of Not Your Average Globetrotter, we’ll take a train from Lisbon to Cascais and then take a walking tour through Cascais Portugal. When looking at real estate in Cascais online it can be difficult to get a feel for the city, so I wanted to take a walk through the center of the town to give you a sense of what it’s like for anyone who may be thinking about living in Cascais as an expat in Portugal.

  1. Thank you for showing us around Portugal. I would love to visit this winter whe4n temperatures are cooling down in London. Would you recommend Lisbon for a first timer, or perhaps Algarve for the weather? Thanks a lot again and all the best.

  2. interesting video…I had considered staying out here for a few nights but based on this video I think it is not quite the "charming" place I imagined. I think I will continue to look for a spot on the coast with dramatic views and easy access from Lisbon. If you have a suggestion please let me know. Thank you so much for taking the time to show us around. It really is so much better than reading about a place.

  3. I was/am moving to Italy. Now because of some new developments on Italy, I’m looking again at Portugal. I really like Braga. I have been studying italian for a year. To switch to Portuguese now …don’t know if I can do it. Will see…. Great video. Looks too touristy for me. Yes check it out for a day, ok. Watch documentary “Last Tourist”:on Netflix. Eye opening
