Catalonia – Andorra – Portugal | C-A-P TRIP Highlights | 2021

Hi! Happy to meet You all! We are Martins and Evija!

And these are highlights from our C-A-P TRIP
At the beginning, “C-A-P” trip should be “C-P” trip.. but “A” came as a surprise.
Everything started at late night in airport of Barcelona. Where our good friend Xavi picked us up and straight away took us to the one and only open restaurant… Mc`Donalds. Afterwards it was late enough to take a rest and prepare our selves for next 3 days in Barcelona…
In the morning Xavi turned in to a super local guide and by the breakfast table explained about places that he would like to show us. Schedule sounded so packed and maybe not doable with amount of time what we had till next flight, but we were ready for everything and everything was ready for us!
Huge thanks to Xavi!! Cause we managed to see such a magnificent place as Montserrat !
It is one of must see places!! one question .. How did they make it?
Mountains behind the castle looked like childhood made castles from sand at the sea side…beautiful!
Also a small but interesting jungle hike up to local village mountain. We could see the untouched forest part in Barcelona and gardens of local farmers + caves , which were closed for people.. because of people…cause yeah, sometimes people can be and are disgusting against nature.
Later on we visited “ Catalunya en Miniature” this place is the right place if you know that your time is limited .. cause you can see all the masterpieces of Catalonia in less then 2h.
Next as a cherry on our trip dessert was a real Paella, made by Xavis grandma! Thank you grandma! We could taste a real touch of love in this special dish. Definitely recommend! Xavis families restaurant – Cal Joan! Real deal sangria, paella, good coffee, service and peaceful atmosphere. Lovely.
After such a meal, it is tradition to take a “siesta”. If you don’t know then siesta is something like a small nap in the middle of a day to rest your body and mind.
Anyways.. after exploring centre, Around 2am Xavi brings a letter “A” in our trip! After a long day of walking , eating tapas and exploring, we jumped in a car and started our way to country named Andorra!
This was unplanned but so cool! Respect to Xavis driving skills and driving without sleeping.. while my sunshine passed out on back seat.. and I was trying to stay awake. After 3 and a half hour ride we arrived to Andorra. It was dark and we couldn’t see what’s around until the daylight came and we opened our eyes for the beauty around us!! Such a small but beautiful country. Mountains around did look like on “green screen”. Is this.. real life?
We had only one day there, but we managed a hike from one of Andorras ski resorts + small talk with horses and a little picnic. We needed to head back to Barcelona, cause our flight was early in the morning to our next stop.
Again HUGE thanks to our friend Xavi for hospitality and guiding skills he showed.

It’s Portugal baby!

After changing our clothes for something lighter in a toilet of mini Lisbons street cafeteria/bar, we enjoyed our first Portugals mini beer.. It was perfect timing because was +27`C.

After checking in our hotel and dropping our backpacks straight away we went out for proper “google map” touring adventure… Exploring the Lisbon we made our “must see” tomorrow list – “25 de Able” bridge, “Chris The King” statue, Belem Tower and more…
You should know that we had only two nights in Lisbon, so even by making schedule for tomorrow, we already checked the beauty of the city, buildings and world well known Portuguese tiles, which you can find everywhere in their architecture.

By the end of second day evening with fresh pineapple cocktails in our hands, sitting by the Tezu river ,we made a plan for tomorrow – let’s go to visit our friends in Portimao!
After ~3h train ride, we reached Portimao!
Google map ON and we walked our way to apartment. Straight after we reached our local friend Ricardo and our Latvian friend Elina, we went to the paradise beach where of course we open a cold Portuguese beer. Sunset and a games with Ricardos son and random black Labrador made our day.
Must say that Portimao was biggest bite of our trip! Ricardo brought us to so many beaches, caves, cliffs . Cape St. Vincent which is southwestern most furthest point of Portugal and Europe! Amazing place!
Must say that my own goal was to reach Benagil cave and we did it twice.. once with a small boat and one more time we were swimming all the way to the cave. Another life goal – check.

Chorizo, pastel, caipirinha… special chicken “piripiri“ was a recommendation of our friend and we did try it in supermarkets parking lot. Shout-out to Fernando!
Surfing ,longboarding and hanging out with locals by the beach when temperature hits more then +30`C…

UNFORGETTABLE MEMORIES HAS BEEN MADE

Xavi , Ricardo , Fernando , Elina , Louis once again Thank You for making this trip more special!

TRAVELING; Is the only thing you buy that makes you richer.
PEACE
