Nice Q&A with Cindy
What was that business called? an Amunity? It's a really interesting idea having them pay you an "income". More details please!
Good stuff
i am really enjoying your journey to portugal. you are making some great videos
Hello I’ve just found your channel I don’t know maybe it was something to do with Portugal . I’m just about to go back out to Portugal for my Second time to look for land the flights are cheap but the baggage is expensive and that’s without trying to find a decent hire car company take care look forward to more of your adventures.
Hi Martin just some useful info for you as a recent arrival here in pt. We arrived with everything in our Ford Ranger and a trailer last July. I have just matriculated the Ranger and the total cost including new lights front and rear €2612 so don’t let anybody try and tell you it costs thousands and isn’t worth it. If you can get used to driving on the other side of the road it’s not a problem most of the time. Will try to catch you next time you are over 👍 good luck 🥰
Great
great video! See you next time.
You mention you may be looking for a property, if you watch this site, the couple work with an estate agent and you will find all the agent's details on that site, just look for the one's where they are looking at properties in Portugal.
Destino Portugal – also a couple from the UK. Another site of a couple who show properties is Ken from OK Portugal, and there is another agent I will look for him for you. I am like Cindy originally from South Africa, but I line in New Zealand.
It’s crazy how you missed the comforts of life When you’re in a place where there is none it puts a whole new meaning of living off grid it makes you think and realize what’s more important to you you can have convenience of life you just gotta pay for it I don’t know about most people but I do need My hot shower every day and the use of a toilet not a bucket or a hole in the ground I live in Florida where it is hottttt so I also need my air conditioning and my heater in the winter so good luck on finding a property that has the comfort of life that you can live with I am interested in following your journey so whatever you decide to make a video on it’s OK with me 👍✌️🤙❤️🇵🇹❤️
You are a lovely man. You asked the questions of Cindy I would have asked. You approached your time away very respectfully and thoughtfully with a good work ethic which is refreshing. Best of luck with your endeavours and I will continue to watch your journey.
Perhaps also check out Alex who's building his house in Portugal with his dad here: https://www.youtube.com/c/AlexFarms
If I was to be young again and decided to go to Portugal, I'd do what you're doing and reduce all my outgoings, cash in what I can. I'd keep the house, and rent it out, that way there'd be an income. I'd work my sox off for 5 yrs, putting every penny I could aside just buying the quality tools you need, never mind the land/property in Portugal, will be quite a tidy sum as well as good quality camera equipment and laptop (I'm presuming you'd cary on vlogging?). Then when the money is in my account, and I can live and work on property once in Portugal, there will be less financial pressure and a cushion should it be needed. During those 5 yrs, I'd go to Portugal, to visit and work with the communities you know from YT to gain all the skills needed, whilst also experiencing different areas. I would also go on some evening courses to learn plumbing, woodworking and brick building skills (at least to learn the basics). The more skills you have the more chance of you also earning an income in Portugal as I understand it's very hard to get hold of reliable builders/workmen.
Congratulations from your open mind.
I wish you all the best in this Portuguese jorney.
I actually would like to watch in your videos, your journey to your Portuguese dream.
Good and bad things, because, that's the real Life.

Great video Martin. I hope that you will find a fine place in Portugal, I am sure you will. And I am looking forward to follow you on your journey. All the best to you and your sweet dog.
Baloney. Cindy is in her prime. A lot of her diseases are helped tremendously by her hard work daily and routine. She’s a keeper, never a quitter. You’ve been a good friend to Cindy. Hope you two will continue the friendship.❤
Add learning Portuguese to your list! You are young and if you give a bit of time every day you will lay a good foundation for making friends and being less frustrated and lonely.
Great vídeo with Cindy 👍
Great interview with Cindy. I just love her as she motivates and inspires me and others. Thanks so much for helping her out and I enjoyed you very much as well. Good job!
Nice video. Greetings from Porto,Portugal 🇵🇹
Los subtítulos no se pueden activar,me preguntó si algunos youtubers hacen su canal para un público determinado ,antes de tener un canal la gente debería de saber cómo funciona si es que quieren tener público o no?
👍🌟👏🍀💐
Aw buddy x ❤️
I watch quite a few people in Portugal and I know you have met Nick and maybe Carissa and Iwan. But another one is The Wildlanders off grid and Portugal from scratch plus a couple from cornwall who have bought a small piece of land Destino Portugal. There is also two in the north of Portugal The Newbys and Simple Life Portugal. They might help to see others doing what you hope to do.
Love your videos so if you are able in between back to work and having to edit the vlogs would be great.
Your dog is so sweet, a bit camera shy . I just love dogs. I own a Jack russell who I think has a bit of staffy in him which makes a lovely temperament ( a big baby) 😂
Look forward to what you come up with next and thank you for sharing your journey
Hi Martin
I still think you should rent out your house in the UK,, that house will go up in prices over time, and be a good investment,, and the rent would be your passive income.
Consistency is very important on YouTube,, pick a day and a time and post a video every week,, if you do not have anything relevant,, come up with some stuff and make it relevant (You will find that you are the product,, that people stop by, to see what you are doing,, not because of what you are doing. You will quickly find out what is popular and not so much)
It´s hard work,,, I haven't missed a video in 5-6 years,, the two first years was a bit more random.. I did take a month off, but told my subscribers that ½ a year in advances. At the same time I cut down from 3 to 2 videos a week,,,, 3 videos a week and a full time day job,, not much time left over.. 🙂
I am going back to PT later this month,, to take care of a bit of paperwork. 🙂
Also British delays in Portugal has a load of files which are really good and Steve is the font of all knowledge. Not sure if you are a member, think I saw Cindy on it the other day.
Clear cookies between looking at flights……
Good to see you again…. Yes love to see you planning, and what you do in UK videos. Learning experience for you and us. Wish you all the best.
Log splitter drill ..no need for a axe
Cindy needs to contact this company .If she does a review they might give her a phone free .
It goes a fortnight between charges ,is just about unbreakable and has very unusual features like lazer measuring .
Here is a honest review….
Destroying the MANLIEST phone on the planet
JoergSprave channel .
I think the car needs to be in your name for at least 1 year.
Would be interesting to see what you do for a living … love the honesty of your videos 😊
🙂
Good video! Thanks for catching us up with yourself and introducing your very good boi🐕. Your ideas for future vids sound good, natch i'd enjoy seeing you work your trade, your interests, your journey to Portugal. And your visiting with other youtubers who've settled there would be of great interest as i follow a number of CP channels. You did a great job conducting your Q&A with Cindy. Not only did your questions resonate with viewers curiosity, but you captured yeasy in her armchair Cindy relaxed with her newest mutally fond friend vs the dynamo "On camera" in her own vids, which was very sweet to see. You have good vlogging & content instincts, Martin. As i've said before, i hope to follow in you footsteps if Heaven designs it for me 😊. Thanks much!
When my dog went deaf I used vibrations, as in tapping the floor or other items, so I didn’t startle her, and show her where I was or to get her to follow.
I love how real you are, I.e. your realisations about how Portugal isn’t like you thought, being your first time away. It’s fresh and honest and not put together for views. You’ve said that you come from a part of the uk that’s built up, busy, noisy and stressful. I would caution against going very remote. The country side can be as peaceful close to civilisation,. I’m concerned your need to escape the environment of home should not push you to go to the opposite extreme. I think that you would thrive being fairly close to other people, community, cafes, bars, for those times when the silence becomes deafening. Now…to watch your video 😂
U r a natural. Great video. God bless for helping Cindy, I so would love to go there myself.
Enjoyed your video and would like to see you restoring a floor but I just enjoy following your journey. It was a nice Q & A. Your dog is adorable. Wishing you the best in your journey ahead.
How will you make a living in Portugal? Loved the interview and your kindness toward Cindy.
Good to see you enjoyed your time at Cindy's and in central Portugal 🇵🇹. Be good to see some of your work with wood floors in Kent. Will you be doing similar work in Portugal ?
It will be interesting to see your journey to relocating to Portugal. I hope you and Cindy stay in touch.
The q and a was very interesting. Your dog is adorable.
As it's from Kent to Portugal perhaps some typical Kent content? I think a video on parquet flooring might be interesting. The couch hopping around the other utube homesteaders in Portugal would be fun.
As an ex-lawyer I'm 95% sure that scheme where you give someone a bulk amount and then they pay you X per month out of your own money so that you can say you earn a passive income for visa purposes is a fraud crime from the point of view of PT authorities. Very bad idea to mention it on a video and even worse idea to actually do it.
Buy your truck fast, as you need to have owned it for some time in the UK prior to being able to register it in Portugal without paying an import tax.
I would be interested to know more about the flooring work you do.
In fact we have to protect our wooden floor now
I would love to see you work on floors. Thanks for showing your dog.
