Hi there! I am Joseph.
I have been an immigrant / expat living in central Portugal along with my beautiful girlfriend Mariana for seven years now.
Together Mariana, my father Clinton and myself, would like to show you a bit of the daily goings on around our Portuguese farm / homestead / smallholding and all of the work we are doing whilst renovating, starting building projects, working with our livestock, DIY and trying to grow our little families own food!
In this episode we welcome you to join us in early Autumn as we are given a tour around our friends house, which is for sale, in a rural mountain village in central Portugal.
I start the virtual tour with me introducing myself at the end of a cobblestoned road leading up to the highest house in the village, I explain the location of this wonderful gem of a house and a little about the surroundings and local amenities.
I begin by walking through the iron gateway and onto the property, the house does not have much of a garden, which would suit most people who wanted to buy this as a buy to let. The building itself is roughly a 70m2 footprint with 200m2 set over 3 floors. A lot of usable area.
Inside the house I check out each of the rooms, show you that the walls are all good and solid, as are the floors and ceilings. The house is ready to roll on the inside apart from some modernising. The basement of the house however needs renovating, should one want to include it in the living area of the house. The loft space also would need renovating should you wish.
Once we get back on my farm I take a walk up to the olive grove, where we peer over the gate to the vineyard, where the sheep are, they all greet us upon arrival and then I explain a little about why they are in there and for how long.
I wish you all a very pleasant week ahead and I hope to see you all in the next one! Bye bye for now!
See our journey to self-sufficiency / permaculture / organic farming living in Portugal, trying to produce as much of our own food planting vegetables, growing fruit trees as well as looking after all our animals, such as our chickens, turkeys, geese, ducks, quail, rabbits and sheep – Shortly pigs too!

I prefer these videos more than the farms.
Great rental potential with a bit of refurb.
I personally would like to see more village properties love them would like to live in one so keep them coming
Thank you for the video. That is really a nice cute house.
Thank you a lovely vlog. Houses, Especially if they are just on the edge of a village or in a small hamlet. Love small gardens, just enough for a little veggie patch and a few fruit trees for shade., or a lovely verandah. Rental opportunities?, Excellent. Love your sheep. Just remember to open the shutters for us before you show the rooms. It was a bit dark to get perspective. Did you say how many square meters the property was? The house I saw, 70sqs footprint. Very cool.
Lovely
Definitely love more of these normal houses as well as the farms!
Love all your videos of farms but we also love all these liveable village houses.Big hug from México City.Hope we can some day buy one and move to a more peaceful and tranquil environment.Your videos are truly inspiring for us.
That was a lovely update off you Joseph, and a fine village home for someone no doubt. The walkabout through your orchards was so nice to see as well, and with the seasons changing we can see how they are used. 👍🏼👍🏼
We'd LOVE to see more village houses. That's what we're looking for, in your area. We will be visiting next spring. HOpe to see some cute houses while we're there.
More property like this please😋
Nice property, Looking forward for other similar properties. let it keep coming
Hi Joseph, yes great idea to show us more houses like this, I am really considering to buy one just wanted some more land around it if possible to grow vegetables, I sent you message on FB.
I Joseph! I’m not looking for property to buy but love watching your property tours anyway and I do love to see variety so this village house was a bit different but I enjoyed watching. Amazing how the seasons change the landscape, how green is that grass looking??? Portugal needs it!
Big hug 😊
Hello Joseph, thank you for a fine video and I would very much see some village houses; a mix between farms and village houses would be fantastic. The sheep, they eat the leaves and grass in the vine yard as you have told us, so they do not damage the plants at all? I also think of the buds for next year or do the plants get the buds in the spring? All the best to you and your lovely family.
Hi Joe, great video always lovely looking around the properties, pleased you got some rain , take care ,love to you all xxx
Absolutely nice update, I'm still reliving my bitcoin day trading session with Brooks Harrison up close. In no less than 9 weeks, I was able to accumulate a total of 6.7 BTC after exchanging my initial 0.8 BTC…
Joseph, do you happen to know anyone that does similar "reviews" of property on the coast? City or rural, just would like to see places close to water.
I like seeing village homes. I also enjoy the farms. He safe. Cheers!
Hi Joseph, thank you for showing, please keep videos of houses like these coming! Cheers!
Thank you for the video. I would be interested in a small farm or rather a village house but with a bigger garden than this.
Keep up the good work and a good variety of properties
I like the village house, and the price just amazes me. I would prefer to buy a farm, but just a small one would be nice.
I don't mind some property videos thrown in but I mainly subscribe to keep up with your lifestyle so keep it real and keep the videos coming. You guys are one of the reasons (amongst many) that I moved back to Portugal again after the tough period that was the pandemic
Yes to more property videos, I love watching those….and maybe one day I will find my new home. 🙂
Great idea to see more houses without land area for a lot of people, like us. 😊 Thank you
I like the property videos, ide like to be able to make comparisons to other areas, perhaps you could
Love how you champion portuguese village life. My wife and I can atest that it is a great lifestyle.
How old is old for a cherry tree to be demolished? Is the Gorgerous Granite house still available? (84,500 Euros) Donna
Hi Joseph liked the house lot of potential to rent rooms or the whole house just needs a little work to get it started.😊
I love seeing the property videos, I like to learn about the different areas, we are hoping to buy a small farm after the New Year.
its nice to see a property apart from a farm, it might be nice to simply live in town and appreciate the walkability.
Well i loved this one… Great location and posibilities. For sure interested in the village houses. Farms is to much land and upkeep so bring on the town/village houses J ;-P
We are looking for just this kind of property: close to an inhabited village with amenities, not too much land. So keep bringing them on 😄
Great video lovely house in a lovely village
Oh my gosh, that village house is so great, and has so much potential. Thank you for showing it to us Joseph.
Will you be renewing the old cherry Orchard?
I think that village houses with a bit of land are more realistic for many people. Not everyone has the energy and knowledge to make a profitable farm. But I love all the house tours.
Hey Joseph, I enjoy seeing this rental property too not only farms. But if i may say only seeing your day to day on tour Farm is already great video. I miss the ducks, fishing trips etc… Thank you for these calming videos
Love your videos! I'm surprised your sheep don't eat the grape vines down.
Great video Joseph! Really interested in whatever you can show us each week!! I like the contrast between ranch/farm/town cottages!! Excellent!!
Hello, there, like what you doing, video s I mean. So ?? In Portugal, is there rent to ouwn? Like in Belgium. Or do you know what I mean. Thank you in advance.
What is the name of the village? It’s not in the description. Also what is the closest big city that has an airport and a hospital?
Thanks Joseph. I like the property. Any chance the grounds adjacent or around the house have a small piece for sale as well?
How can we get in touch with you if we want to pursue a property with serious intention of buying? Since you are already living there we would like your help/input getting more info on the properties you are showing.
A reasonably priced House with a view , amazing . It seems as though I`ve seen this House before in a Video . I could be mistaken , but it had a nice piece of land for farming , just a short walking distance away . Thanks Joseph .
Someone commented that you have a Facebook account, I couldn’t find it. Can you please let me k ow what the name is? Thx
Thank you for showing us the house. I am very interested in these videos.
