  1. Use repetition for your lesson today:
Cannes = Kahn (con) (the final S is silent in French, there is a stress on the N, but Kahn would be acceptable for a foreigner. It is never Kan or Kans LOL.)
    Livorno (Li-vor-no, not Liv-or-no) = Lee-vor-noh (not Liv-or-noh!)
    Repeat five times:
    Civitavecchia (Ci-vi-ta-ve-cchi-a) = Chee-vee-tah-vay-kee-ah
    Chee-vee-tah-vay-kee-ah
    Chee-vee-tah-vay-kee-ah
    Chee-vee-tah-vay-kee-ah
    Chee-vee-tah-vay-kee-ah
Remember to look at Italian words as consonant-vowel syllables for easy pronunciation: Ci-vi-ta-ve-cchi-a. The letter I is always pronounced EE. Again, I is always pronounced EE and the letter E in Italian is pronounced like AY as in day. The letter C followed by E or I is pronounced like CH (as in cheese) for ciao. Gucci, or cello. Vincenzo = Veen-chayn-tzoh. The letter C in Italian never has an S sound. The letter Z in Italian has a TZ sound as in pizza or piazza. Remember to separate the Italian words into syllables for pronunciation like Ci-vi-ta-ve-cchi-a, Li-vor-no, Ve-ne-zi-a, Vin-cen-zo.
