The lockdowns in china were insane considering corona has a mortality rate of 1% Theres so many stories of people from shanghai commiting s*icide because of the lockdown
Idk where you got the idea that this was the first protest against the Chinese president in the last 30 years it happens every couple years. Like did you just forget about the Hong Kong protest? China’s a dictatorship of course but people still protest. The main difference between the west and China is how protest and popular movements are stopped. Chinese media typically just doesn’t report on it and any mention is removed form social media whereas here the movements are undermined with propaganda to focus people attention on culture war topics and the movements are co-opted by the political establishment. Obviously I’m not saying these are the same obviously China is more authoritarian than the west in many ways but people seem to have this idea that no dissent is allowed. It’s that dissent is suppressed and actual action is made impossible. In that respect is very similar to the west.
Also like… no freedom or justice at all. It's the white paper rebellion because the protesters cover their faces with a piece of printer paper since that is the only thing the government can't censor
Bruh those rules are 100000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000% stupid!
And there was a gas leak where people died locked in their appartments. And people starving. And babies begging dragged away for quarantine.. and beatings for ignoring lockdowns… little more than a fire, even though that’s tragic enough on its own
