…vs tourist? Making an educated guess, if you leave within 90 days, you will still be considered a tourist. My partner-an EU citizen- and I -non-EU but permanent resident of a country not called Spain…are trying to figure the maximum boundaries to remain just tourists and not qualify for non-resident tax.
One interesting variable is renting a second home in Spain. If you rent for 11-12 months+, but you leave within 90 days and then return, and leave within 90 days…are you still over the non-resident tax line? Is how long you rent a place for a trigger for nonresident tax status? Complicated questions. But you seem to be adept at knowing or finding out the answers. Thank you.
