Cristiano Ronaldo put his recent woes with his club Manchester United to one side, as he and his Portugal team-mates arrived in Doha, Qatar on Friday ahead of the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
Ronaldo criticised United manager Erik ten Hag and the Old Trafford hierarchy during a recent interview with TalkTV, and it is now understood ‘The Red Devils’ are currently exploring their legal options to bring the 37-year-old’s second spell at the club to a premature end.
Fernando Santos’ side begin their World Cup Group H campaign against Ghana on Thursday, with matches against Uruguay and South Korea to follow.
Portugal’s best finish at the World Cup was third place in England 1966 and they, more recently, came fourth in Germany 2006.

ok, im portuguese, and i can assure you that 80% of the fans are not "Portuguese" They are literally paid fans to support Portugal, that came from India, Bangladesh and so on . Yes, we love Cristiano Ronaldo, but in Portugal, we do not scream " Cristiano Ronaldo" all the time, we know that he is one of the best footballers who ever lived, but that's just too much. I can guarantee you that in Portugal 90% of our football chants are not about Cristiano. Those people there are literally "fake " fans that are paid by Qatar Government to support Portugal, just like many other national teams. This world Cup is really fake . You cannot simply become "Portuguese". For example, I cannot simply become North American, just because I want to. It's just sad what money can do.
