  1. Being a pecan tree owner depends on how big the tree is if it's like my neighbor's yard to were it like HUGE it's not gonna do that much damage as there can be a lot more roots and it is your property it is not your problem he can always call someone to remove a couple of roots it's not like you are removing an entire tree because it died after you cut off like what sounds like 3 or 4 roots I would personally say well say it's your tree you do something about it then

  2. Technically if the neighbor expects the OP to pay some of the tree removal cost for something that he did on His property then OP can just as easily say the neighbor has to pay some of the cost of his daughter's medical bills as a result of her tripping on the roots that came from the tree on His property.

  3. What was that father thinking!? Alright, if he wanted to be supportive and take the child to that place cuz he wanted to go, it’s okay, I get it. It’s weird, but I get it (it’s weird cuz he obviously didn’t know what that place was about)
But leave him alone? In a room full of adults? Your 16-year-old? SCARY
If you don’t know if the place is safe, you don’t leave your kid there, specially when they’re in such a sensitive age

  4. story 3 wedding conflicted. the grandmother is 92. If she has dementia and is likely for a retirement home then ya. Sadly no she can't come. If she is still well lives alone or with her husband or with the family etc. Possibility to come.

If music is too loud etc. Do not accommodate, family will take care of her, not you.

  5. Tree root guy is kind of an idiot. Removing roots can put a tree into shock and cause it to die. It really doesn't matter if the roots are in your property. The tree is on the neighbors property. Just the same as they don't own any branches that go over onto their side.

That dip shit is lucky his neibors didn't sue them for tree destruction. It's actually a VERY hefty fine in many states

  6. Story 3. If that was my fiance that wouldn't allow my gram at my ceremony and reception, I would call off the wedding without thinking twice. Her attitude about it is literally the reason I won't ever get married without a prenup. Classic bridezilla and if I had to put money on it that marriage wouldn't last 2 years.

Story 4. Oh god if they get sued tree law is gonna absolutely ruin them. I hope if the tree dies the OPs neighbor takes them for the full amount of the tree. Sounds like a 30-50k payday depending on how long the tree was there. And hope he absolutely lines the property line with new ones who tend to have surface roots. I might be a bit petty.

  7. A large tree won't die as long as you don't remove 15% of surface level roots at a time, or ones really close to the trunk. But if the neighbor is so concerned about OP damaging his property, then OP could equally be concerned about encroachment and negligence resulting in endangerment of children.
